Djs that play a variety of genres

In 1999 Oakenfold played a whole load of different stuff in this sets, from progressive to goa and tech to house. Just wondering if there were any DJs around today who do the same sort of thing??

Sander Kleinenberg is a friend of mine and one of my favorite DJ's because he tends to mix things up and you never know what you might hear from him. I just saw him tonight at Crobar NYC and he started with some old school classics and when I left he was playing hard and techy. He's definately got his own style, but hard to define exactly what that is.

tell him "sup" at www.sanderkleinenberg.com

While I tend to mix progressive, tribal and tech, I'll get trancey on your ass when I'm feelin' it... I love really housey trance and trancey house...

^^ Wow, that's a suprisingly good tracklist.

Check out Danny Howells, though. Prog, tech, house, breaks... anything bar trance really.

Posted by torontotrance on Apr-10-2004 17:03:

Howells, Digweed, Sasha, Kleinenberg, Lawler and others are known for just about playing any style

Last time I saw diggers, he played house, prog, techno, tech-house, breaks, and some genres with no names yet

I would REALLY like to see a DJ that could pull off being eclectic and smart enough to mix together:

Trance
Tech
Hard Trance
House
Progressive
Drum & Bass
Break Beat

I think it definetly can be done rather tastefully and have it make sense in a set as long as the DJ has a creative choice in track selection and programming.

That would be an achievement, but it may not be to everyones liking, but i would have use the order

Progressive, Break Beat, House, Tech, Trance, Hard Trance, Drum n Bass

There aren't many, that's for sure. The two that come to mind are Fleming and Marco V.

Ferry has been sneaking in some techno, but not enough to count.

Richard Humpty Vission is the closest I've seen to this... I heard a set that he did live at a rave in San Bernardino where he mixed Hard Trance such as Scot Project's Overdrive with Hard House and he even threw in a Missy Eliot DnB mix, the rest had mostly hard house overtones, although I didn't stay for the whole thing.
