Headphones
Hi,
I've been looking at the Sony MDRV 500 DJ headphones.
Anyone use them? Are they pretty good for the price? ~40
Also, something I can't tell from screenshots, are the inner cones big enough to let the whole of your ear fit inside?
sony mdr-v6
or
sennheiser hd-280 pro.
basically they are just smaller versions of the mdr -700s. the cups arent very big. a friend of mine (the one that got me into mixing) had them for a while, they arent all that bad but i would def. recommend getting the V6s instead. alittle extra cash goes along way there. i dont know about the Senn's, ive never used them but people in here gush over them so they cant be too bad
I've got a couple pair of Senn's i love all of them. Well worth the money.
use to own mdr-v500 for 2years straight. Not bad, way more durable than the v700s. I actually gave them to my father for use while at work (postal worker at the mail facility) and surprisingly they lasted a full 2 more months of his abuse. Anyways there's still way better phones' than those for the $$$
Here's some of my favorite headphones not in any particular order, my favorite two that i own are the hd-280, and the rpdj1200
Top 5:
1. Sennheiser hd-280pro (sound great after break in, best isolation, however the headband will crack)
2. Sony mdr-v6, mdr-7506 (studio standard, great sound, classic design)
3. Pioneer hdj-1000 (looks sweet, great bass response for large clubs)
4. Technics rp-dj1200 (great for most parties, unique swing arm, smaller design for smaller parties)
5. Sennheiser HD-25 (amazing sound quality, good isolation, just great headphones except pricy)
Thanks for the info.
Been looking into the Sony MDR-v6/MDR 7506. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find anywhere in the U.K where they sell them - I've tried all the major places online. Anyone know of anywhere? Thought they might only be available in the U.S..
One other thing, do the mdr-v6/mdr 7506's have good sound isolation?

I'd get the HD280's.. I havent heard many reports of the headband cracking, and Sennheiser has a KICKASS warantee and repair program (MUCH better than the one Sony has for *most* of their headphones...) I would get the HD280's, especially since you are in Europe, and they should be cheaper there.
The Ultrasone HFI 650 Trackmaster is really good too.
