I plan on buying an MD recorder very soon. Which one should i get Sony MZ-N10 for $228 + shipping

and what's the diff between the type S? Is it the same product as above (this one is $299)

they seem the same to me but with different headphones, which probably suck anyways. are you using this to record your mixes, or record live sets at clubs, or just as a portable music/mp3 player?

Of course record live sets, concerts, and maybe even classroom lectures. I already have an excellent music player.

spec wise i cant tell a difference between them. they both have mic input and that is all you need. if you look at the second one for 299. it says "as of 9.1.02" if that thing had been out fora year and a half then there is nothing special about the so called "type-s". buy the cheaper one. its probably the exact same unit.

i also use MD to record my sets off my mixer, both of these look pretty cool and are making me consider upgrading my portable.
