Hahaha

They are good quality events though... no other large dance music event in Sydney comes close to the exceptional standard of Utopia. They've built up almost 10 years of experience. The marketing hype is somewhat justified.

I feel that the recent Transmission was far more overhyped for what we got. I cringe at Transmission marketing.

Would like to see Sharkey again, but couldn't really care less about anyone else.

Utopia's are always good production wise but their music policy has really only appealed to the rave and hard dance crowds, hence why (I'm pretty sure) their attendances have plateaued since 2000.

I'm going to Utopia. Anybody else planning to attend?

I'm a big fan of Yoshi, he's great live, as far as local djs go. So much energy.

Well I had a great night. Admittedly not as spectacular as last year's event but still a good production nonetheless.

I was a bit worried when we rocked up around 10.45pm, went into the main arena and it was at most half full. Walked around for a bit and by the time we got back, Bexta was ready to go and that's when it started picking up. From that point on it just went nuts!

Lab 4's set went off, pumped it up really hard after Bexta (doin it for the ladies). Ultrasonic followed but were only so-so.. they were a lot more active last year (mainly due to that crazy MC).

I know it's a good night when I can dance for over 6 hours even when I couldn't recognise any of the tunes.. well i did spot "Wind it up" but i can't remember any others lol. Cool crowd too.

Pictures here.

As you can see from the pics, lasers were great (missing those reflective spheres though!).

Oh and if anybody could ID this track that'd be appreciated

Thanks to Utopia for keeping all the candy ravers at Utopia and not at Progress with Misja

Glad ya had fun mate, any other TAs go?

i ended up making it out there last night, very tidy party if i do say so myself. The only set i realllly got into was lab4's, its great to go back to the hard trance every once in a while.

Oh - and on the topic of set times, they had them printed out and left in flyer size form on a few of the tables as you were walking in, very fucking handy. If only 2 tribes could of given us the same courtesy...
