Wut ever happened to Oakey???

Damn yo oakey used to be the man i use to love him... well i still do its just that he sux now. hes been going down hill ever since like 2001. i dunno wat it is he use to be amazin back in like 1999 with his essential mix world tour and everybody knows that. It sux that he went commercial, he should have stuck to his old style cause back then he was the shit but anyway i heard that hes changin his whole set again and that hes goin back to his old way of mixin so hopefully hes gonna make a comeback.......

I know what you mean, babe. I think a lot of us old school Oakey fans feel the same way. It's disheartening but there's really nothing we can do. If Oakey made a comeback I would definitely support him. But until he does, you just have to accept change and find your inspiration in other DJs. As cheesy as it sounds, though, I am still actually THANKFUL that I got to experience Oakey a little bit when he was still in his prime. All the Oakey haters can talk shit just like all the PvD haters can talk shit. I am beyond both of them but I would never deny the enormous talent that both DJs possess.

Yeah but PVD hasn't sold out that way Okie has. Yah PVD used to be better but he still rocks it. Oakenfold dissapeared off the face of the earth for a while and then came back with some shitty 'trip hop' cd that he produced with "starey-eyed suprise" and stuff. And then there's the haircut....

I wan't Oakie to go back to when he made "Tranceport".

youve gotta respect the guy for what he's done for EDM,,,but i think he's just moved on he's genuinely just not into it anymore...there too many youngsters up and coming that are better than him...he aint got his finger on the pulse no more....he kinda quit while he was still ahead.....still a legend though....

I think alot of you people should realize that most tunes these guys played back then where not exposed around the Radio or clubs. I mean songs like Sandstorm, Heaven, As The Rush Comes would not be play unless we where in 2001. shIt happens you know. There all these new guys and upcoming. I am sure Oakenfold will go back to his awesome self. DJ Tiesto will probaly hit right this year *cough* Nyana could have been better. oh and sorry I don't like PVD. Out there and back didn't come out till later.

Oakie is still the highest paid dj as far as I know.
