hypertraxx, bass

ok i know how the bass line goes but it sounds like if theres a second bass line that i can figure out.

the first one is more or less like this.

K...K...K...K
...b...b...b...b

yeah you get it but theres a second one and thats the one i cant figure out, its alot faster and goes like dudududududu all the time (lol)

K...K...K...K
bbBbbbBbbbbB

i still cant figure it out.

please help

(hypertraxx - the darkside /see that day, (same shit different name)

darkside is not a staight 4/4 beat... tho don't remember what instead. But there's only three equally spaced bass notes between two kicks.

Use delay effect on bassline! Try it , different settings, 45% "feedback" and 25% "DRY". Maybe its not about the notes
Still 1 example sound too boring but second with effect must sound pretty much trancy.

K...K...K...K
.bBb.bBb.bBb.

Posted by Crash on Apr-14-2004 12:42:

i did search on shuffle beat and it didnt make me that much smarter.

ive tried different aproaches but....no succes

any more tips?

It's very simple. The bassline is based on triplets. Adjust jour quantisation to 1/12, 1/24... then draw in bassnotes at every 1/12 note. Kick drum every 3/12.

resulting in:
|K..,K..,K..,K..|
|bbb,bbb,bbb,bbb|

listen to it *here*

yeah i got it now, but i had to make the song go in 185bpm for it to got faster but it works and a new production is on the way

thanks

I don't know, what you're doing, but my sample is 129 BPM and works fine.
[edit]thought about it. what you did is take 3 bars and fit 8Kicks into, right? That leaves you with a basic Tempo of 185 * 2/3 = 123,3 BPM... Have a desired basic tempo? Just multiply by 3/2 an you have your sequencer tempo.
Basically that's the same as unsing triplets but is less obvious.[/edit]

yeah thats what i did, im going to experiment more so i can keep it at 140 bpms to make things easier.

about the quantize, i cant figure out how it works in fl (or any other programs ive tried, hehe )

Posted by Crash on Apr-17-2004 07:55:
