Jester Best Soccer Commerical

Best soccer commerical...Nike or other...I love the caged match and the Brazillians in the Airport, and Manchester U. vs the Sumo wrestlers but I think that was only in Europe...any thoughts?

I'm kind of likin' the current Nike Brazil/Portugal advert, don't know if I'd call it the best. Some of the WC adverts were really good.

Favorite one: Tournament inside cage on boat...fkn great one
I downloaded all the new Nike soccer commercials - they're all sweet....and the airport one was funny as well as the soccer beach one (WC 2002 time)...they're all great....

Its good but its just an update of the Brazil team going through the aiport WC98.

The Nike tournament on the boat was great.

The best for emotion and passion was the ad for the football coverage on Sky Sports in 1997/98 with Tin Tin Out - Strings for Yasmin playing and Sean Bean narating over the top

Life

It can be difficult

You know that

We all need someone to rely on

Someone who's going to be there

Someone who's going to make you feel like you belong

Someone constant

It's ectasy, anguish, joy and despair
Part of our history
Part of our country
And it will be part of our future
It's theatre, art, war and love
It should be predictable ... but never is
It's a feeling that can't be explained but we spend our lives explaining it
It's our religion
We do not apologise for it
We do not deny it
They're our team, our family and our life.

Commentator voiceover:
No last miracle for Liverpool

Loud Football background

Commentator voiceover:
Yes! That was a brilliant goal

Football
We know how you feel about it
'Cos we feel the same

The one Adidas did for WC '98 with Zidane, Beckham among others. The one with Massive Attack - 'Angel' .

Posted by zarathustra on Apr-17-2004 23:05:

The one with Dennis Bergkamp working in a cheese factory ... or am I missing the point here?

Posted by Yohan on Apr-18-2004 12:39:

One for Canadian Club where there is a footy match going on and many commentators all around the world commenting on it and suddenly a football player kicks another guy in the nads and everyone's like 'OW'.

Brazil/Protuagal Nike ad - cuz they have Cantona in it....
"Ol!!"

Posted by nettwerk on Apr-18-2004 19:50:

I love it when Quaresma (the one Rijkaard is letting to rot at Bara) holds Roberto Carlos by the neck and giving him the "Ole"... then the portuguese are literally pwn3d by the brazilians. And this is 2 months before the Euro... There's the portuguese pride

(Yeah, I know that Brazil won't be there. Daaaaah!!)

Speaking of Cantona, does anyone know exactly WHAT he did to get himself banned from pro soccer?

Hey the other day i was watching beach football on ESPN and guess who was playing? Eric Cantona!

It was some international beach football competition in Brazil.

Posted by Deejiuana on Apr-19-2004 13:48:

Cantona Cantona Cantona - wasnt that guy great?

Anyway, bout him playin Beach soccer, yeah, he does that on a regular basis - tournaments, friendlies, fun, activities for young soccer players. I remember in 99 or 2000, i went to Dubai (United Arab Emirates) and there was this under 18 beach soccer tournament and the winning team gets to play against Cantona's team. Didnt join, just watched...fun times.

Anyway, i think he WAS banned from por-soccer cuz he kicked a spectator... (nice kick - weehaaa)

Posted by europop on Apr-19-2004 23:09:

http://www.soccercommercials.com

Posted by europop on Apr-19-2004 23:13:

OH! how about that new one for Sierra Mist? Freddy Adu (14 year old prodigy playing for DC United) vs Pele...anybody know what i'm talkin about?

Posted by halexander837 on Apr-19-2004 23:53:

One I can think of is that bubble tape commercial where the goalie uses the entire string of gum to make a really large hand and then have the ball stuck in his mouth.

And I'm not a soccer fan (except in high school).

The best one has to be the one currentlty on Scottish TV.
(traditionally one side takes off their shirts so you see their bair chest..ie Cloths v chests)..

A couple of guys are kicking their ball about their flat when the ball flies out of the window....some workmen on a break start kicking the ball about before more men & women join in as the ball is kicked around Glasgow until there are hundreds of players running around the streets, some with shirts, some without......eventually a big fat guy scores a goal

sounds strange but it's hilarious

see it here: advert

Posted by chesco on May-19-2004 19:53:

i've never seen that full version. heh, quality advert
