Creamfields (Much to do about nothing)
I guess I'll start the review if you were there let me know what ya thought of it.
Personally I thought it sucked!!!
There were a few shining points throughout the day:
Carl Cox played a fantastic set
John Kelly played the best set of the day IMO.
Sasha, what can ya say, this guy is always on fire.
Fatboy Slim played a really good set.
Eric Morillo (although I don't really like U.S House, this guy really rocked that tent.
Now the bad:
Scott Bond (The absolute worst set I ever heard in my life, he was so bad at one point he actually stopped and started over) I know a lot of people on this site are Scott Bond fans but if you weren't there don't defend him.
In the Serious tent one half of the speaker system went out! Which was a real disappointment cause I was really looking forward to seeing Anne Savage and Guy Ornadel.
Tiesto played a good set but it was really progressive and at a really slow tempo. I don't know how he ended cause I left to go see Carl Cox. But it was a fairly boring set.
Christopher Lawerence what a piece of shit! Next to Scott Bond one of the worst sets of the day. If this is suppose to be the top American trance Dj then he did all of us a great injustice today. His first three mixing were absolute train wrecks. Not to mention he ruined the mood Armin built up.
Progressive Music, now I like progressive it definetly has it's place in clubland, but a 3:00/4:00 in the morning I wan't something with so kick to it. And Timo Mass did not deliver.
Pissheads, tons and tons of pissheads, harrassing cyberkids, and one actually puched my friend in the face as he was walking out of one of the tents.
All in all I'd say I probally would not go to another Creamfields. To many drunk idiots and way to many big name Dj playing crap sets.
interesting, well all i can say is that i am gutted i missed the john kelly mix, and i thought it sounded good on the radio
How was Armin?
Armin was good, but they only had him scheduled for a 1 hour set and we was the second Dj of the day so I missed half of his set, but it was good, in the 30 mins I saw him he played all the normal anthems .
Shame, those pissheads get everywhere. It was the same at Homelands. It didn't help that Strongbow were giving away free beer. Then by midnight they're all drunk and ratty just as the party's kicking off. You wonder why they bother because they're obviously not into any kind of dance music.
From what I was listening to on the radio, Seb Fontaine played an absolutly blinding set, futureshock passable. Carl Cox was banging from the start, but I started to drift away about half an hour into it when the coffee's wore off.
I think that's the problem with festivals, and probally why I won't go back to another one. They attract the wrong crowd. I don't want to sound like a sepratist, but I prefer to be in a good club with people who came for the music and atmoshpere. I don't want to be around a bunch of drunk idiots!!! And on a normal weekend they would never venture into some of the clubs I go to. But for some reason because if a festival, everyone shows up.
Well I heard Carl Cox last night on the radio1 website, and Seb Fontaine & Yousef earlier in the day... Cox did a fantastic job, as did Seb Fontaine (I'd like to find that Seb Fontaine mix in mp3 if anyone has it) on the other hand, Yousef sucked ass big time...

I have them in RealAudio, Near as damit to FM quality.
Armin, and Tiesto were ok in my eyes, but i mostly stayed in the Serious Tent, while John Kelly was playing awesome beats. Corvin Dalek was so good I nearly broke down. Oakie was to prog for me so i fooked him off. Not a bad Fest. :P

I'm so happy someone said Sasha was on fire as usual 
BTW...I don't know who named Christopher Lawrence American's Number 1 Trance DJ. He blows. He came to Gotham City here in Houston over 5 times, and everytime he sucked. They booked him on Wednesdays, just because they knew he was gunna suck.
You want some good music...go get Tenaglia. He's the number 1 US DJ.
The Seb Fontaine set sounded pretty good from the radio, as did Carl Cox.

Yeah, I agree the Seb Fontaine set kicked ass... It was my first time hearing him spin and I was totally impressed! Great track selection and mixing ability... anyone else hear it? Anyone have a tracklist??

Ok here's the details on Scott Bond's set.
First I have to set the scene, imagine the best trance set you've ever heard, that's what John Kelly was like and coming into his last song, the beats drop off into this male voice reapting: ecstasy ecstasy, ecstasy ecstasy, ecstasy ecstasy, do you know what ectasy's for? and then he drops the trance version of the Eurythmics "Sweet dreams". If the tent wasn't staked down it would have been blown off.
So now Mr. Bond comes on, I think he used backspin or just hit the stop button I cant remember which to end John's last song, which was cool cause myself and everyone else there wanted to appluade John Kelly. Then Scott Bond started with this long floatly synthed out intro that lasted for about 30-40 sec. but it seemed like an hour. And just when your expecting this pounding trance to kick in nothing happened. His first song was this slow boring progressive track at least 7bpm slower than John Kelly ended. It completely sucked the energy out of the tent.
On his first mix he didn't have the beats matched, so the 2 songs were clashing bad and he didn't even attempt to try and fix them. The next 2 track he played were really boring and progressive. He completely read the crowd wrong, now into his fourh song he realizes the crowd want something with a little more energy, so instead of trying to gradually move in that direction he just completely stopped the record and started with something completely different. The transition was so sharp and horrible, you'd swear some amature was up there, and just to reiterate he did not mix this transition, first one style of trance is playing then there's silence and then a new song, much harder and much faster than the last song. His next three mixes were not beatmatched either, so shortly after I left.
And to set the record straight I never claimed Christopher Lawerence was the best American trance Dj, but I have read in mags as him being refered to that way.
pissheads are those FUCKS who are into garage bollox mainly.. i still dont understand until this very fukin day what are pissheads fukin doin at a bloody trance/house party or rave.
