A petition to BOA to bring back the Misstress

OK, so it's been over a year since Barbara was here, and I've been hearing so many people wondering when she is coming back, I figure I should take things upon myself to get her back here!

After hearing the reviews from everyone who has gone to Boa - the sound, the people, the atmosphere - I think Boa is SERIOUS about music.

Seeing as it's the only club in the city that near compares to ARIA...it would be a perfect place for her to return to.

I'll make this like a roll call:

Skipper + about 50 that don't post on this board

If you heard the bullshit she tried to pull in Detroit because of her manager taking off with some of her money, I think you might not be interested in her!

how reliable is your source?

i wouldn't really care... i dont like to get involved in politics... i love her as a dj and a producer and i would looove to go see her play at boa if she came.

I've talked with her personally about a/ the agent b/ the detroit thing and c/ the reaction she got on her guestbook, and I have more respect for her than ever.

Did you know she tried to go to that Detroit gig, only to sit in Dorval for hours, snowed in? (if you dont, check out www.iturnem.com/truth )

yep , i did, she's still a whining bitch (did you read the essay she wrote about BEB last year, what do you expect at "raves", lots of djs shorter time slots )! Even if she changed her mind it was a) only because she got terrible feedback! and b) because she found a spare 10gs lying on her kitchen table meant to go for crack money, but decided to try and get her fans back.

That fact that she even made the excuses she did in the first place is pathetic!

And the source is reliable!

What you post here isn't changing anyone's mind about her. All you're doing is making yourself look like an ignorant asshole.

lasti time i've seen her was haloween @system 2002 and she should come back SOON, she was so good that me and 5 other friends decided to celebrate hallowen every year @ systems

I'm with you Kamran on the whole politics thing. You can add me to the list Sarah. I haven't seen her spin live and Boa would be an excellent venue for my first time.

That was the last time I saw her too....and she was amazing! I love Mistress B. I'd sign up to go there as well since I haven't been to Boa yet. (Shame on me, I know...)

TA has long been more than a 'trance' oriented board... While it's the main focus it encompasses a lot more EDM (and their respective fans) these days

amazing dj for sure and close to top of my list of "to see" djs....

I'm not going to comment on the personal issues expressed here, but I will say that Barbara's a kick-ass DJ, a good person and a very cool chick who was taken advantage of, shamelessly. If she comes to TO again I'm definitely there, along with a fair-sized crew that I'm sure I'll be able to gather.

Anyway.. 'if you are' going to listen to techno.. I reco May 28th for Ben Sims. His sets don't usually require as much of an acquired taste to 'get down' to.

On a related matter to this thread.. MB.. I don't know why she gets sh*t on so much.. people seem to either love her or hate her, and rarely anything in between. Personally, I haven't caught a set of hers in 2+ years now, so I will probably be checking her out in June(?) @ Aria, on the MB night though, not Barbara Brown.
