Talking Mekka - Diamondback (Neotune Remix) --- 192 kbps download

Hey guys!

Made a remix of one of my favourite trance tracks, found years ago on Tisto's ISOS2. I found some new knobs in Fruity Studio and this is the result. Not that you hear them, but I'm just glad I found them.

Anyway, I enjoyed listening to this one at "Are you nuts"-volume, hope you do too.

//EDIT

Hey I updated the song. Heared too many things about computerized synths so I changed the synth.
Get the old version here.

Thumbs up

:O liking
its good, very old schoold
just that synth is too computery :S u gotta change that and the climax is a little empty/weak, unless thats how its suposed to be
because thats how tracks were during ISOS 2
but its really chilling, i love it
peace out

EDIT: after listening again i love the strings and womens voice the most, amazing stuff

Tnx Sunquest! Guess you're right at the lead, well better luck next time Glad you liked it!
Any more listeners with an opinion?

Posted by mantisnl on Apr-20-2004 21:03:

nice remix u made there
i really dig the bassline and the strings but the synths need some work tho, they sound a bit computer-ish indeed
try bringing in more power to the track by putting the cutoff of the strings more open when the main part kicks in

Hey thanks Mantisnl for your review! I followed the tips and updated the track. The lead is much better, huge difference, so check it out!

Some other minor changes made too.

All comments still welcome! Thnx!

Greets, Jay

I only new the updated version and I must say, that the synth is still a bit annoying, espacially in the intro. Perhaps you should try to turn the frequency filter of this instrument down or lower some high frequencies.

Than with amore decent leadsynth this track could be a really chilling.

But to tell not only bad things, this track is beside Luke Terry`s Oceanlab remix one of the best, I heard last days here in the TA AMP-thread.

Hallooooooooooo Jay.................

Well, this is impressive! The update is 100X better than the first version mate, the synths really give it the life it needed cos before it lacked it. Polished and very nice. In fact, this is miles better. The break has power, I can feel the bass in my legs

Another step up for you then eh? I think so! Good stuff mate, good stuff. You're really flying!

Now, if only I could finish my tune.............

I'm a massive fan of the original, and am working on my own remix at the moment (won't be ready for a few weeks yet as I have a ton of stuff to produce )

A nice remix. Good twist on the melody. However it is lacking the great adlib vocals from the original (Which I am using in mine ) which add so much to the track. you should add them to your remix - it would add a whole new level to it (PM me if U weant them )
My only bitch is that the bass seems non-existant when the main part is in flow. Give it a bit of a boost

Thumbs up

This is quite impressive! Maybe not perfect, but I like it a lot. I personally don't mind the lead synth. If I recall correctly, it's pretty similar to the original one, which might be what you're going for. Good job.

Nice work! I'm a fan of the original track and I really enjoyed this remix - those 7 minutes passed oh so quickly.

As Bren mentioned though, the vocals are missing. I really think you should take the time to try using them - I'm sure they would sound great!

Posted by Jay M on Apr-22-2004 20:47:

@ Ian Vanderson - Thanks for reviewing and compliments! Will have a look at the synth, but i think i'm just satisfied with it

@ BassAngel - Hey m8ey thanks again. Flying... am I? Was the other remix

@ Bren-F - Tnx for reviewing and thanks, again, for the vocals, wooo.. hope I can finish it off nicely :P

@ Fundamental - working on it m8!

Cheers!

Effe checken.

Nice kick and bassline! Your sound is improving man!

The synth that is coming up is a bit too loud I guess, but I do like it. Synth in the break is a bit used too often, I would like to hear something more original.

Well nice job in this track. Although I don't think it is that much of a remix, more of a remake, it is very well produced, way better than your older tracks. Keep doing it like this!

What else is there to say...sounds top notch!

Posted by ManTrance on May-02-2004 10:22:

I like this alot.

What did you use for your clap?

Posted by Jay M on May-02-2004 10:33:

Sample with reverb through compressor. Cut off low freqs.

Thanks for listening, guys! Glad you like!

Thumbs up

k checking the updated version , liking it more

it sounds nice and clean, only thing i think you should do, is bit more low in the kick, not to much just a bit.

break is wicked.

never heard the orignal.

Very nice remix...

Hey-

Sounds excellent so far- Really like the synth in the begining.

There's one lead sound you use though which I cant stand..its a really plucky type in the intro-ish area..sounds way amatuer, doesnt fit in with the track!

But your main lead is great, love those big detuned sounds. Break is really really nice.

Production sounds quite tight!!!

Really nice job mang, enjoyed a bunch

Thanks! Glad you like.

Broken silence, which lead do you mean exactly, when does it start...?

Hi Jay.

Listening to Meka-Dimondback...

To be very perfectly honest, I feel this track lacks originality.

No offense, its very well produced, and its definatly in the trance genre, but it didn't speak to me, it didn't move me, mind you I listen to PVD all day, and I'm compareing you to him.

Again no offense, just critizism.

Anyhow, I'll try to listen to some more your tracks a bit later, peace, Pils.
