Fatkid - Southern Sun 2004

Well, IMO pretty damn good remake of southern sun... any opinions?

Vocals are a mile out of time and it is annoying, cant enjoy the tune when ur brains telling u its out

Meh.

Posted by mike_stefan69 on Apr-20-2004 15:08:

whos the guy behind it?

Posted by Strumpie on Apr-20-2004 18:21:

It's not bad but it's not even close to the Tiesto Remix of Paul Oakenfolds original. Pretty nice break imo. And who's that fatkid behind it??

as for the tune. haven't heard it yet, but my expectations aren't too high for this one!

Posted by Pio on Apr-21-2004 07:36:

it's horrible.

Yeah i don;t like this tune. It has potential, but they turned it into a cheese mix IMO.

Garbage. A debauchery of the original. Strips away eveything innovative, and replaces it with the cheesiest and most generic Dutch trance elements possible.

One of the most blatant cash-grabs I've ever seen.

Tiesto's remix ?

hehehe jk I actually love Tijs effort here, tracks like this make me wonder why he sometimes seems unoriginal or halfassed on tunes when he has the ability to make mint ones

as for this remake... i dont even want to know

*lol*

it seems that this section is dominated by progressive/hard-trance listeners...
Since for me its hard to say bad things about this tune, hell i think its better then the original. lush guitar strings great atmosphere cool build even cooler vocal ,you ppl should relax a little.

cheers

have to say I was quite fond of the original so my hopes for this were not so high. This version didn't do anything for me - sure the vocal just sound strange and outta time - I'm sure this must be intentional because no-one but NO-ONE could be THAT far out by accident - it just sounds wrong!

No, it's dominated by people with taste.

awesome use of the original lyrics that gabriel and dresden, and tiesto used before oakey had the lyrics rewritten

bleh.. liked it the first time i heard it. the more i listened to it, the cheesier it sounded.... tiesto remix still tops this one for me.

Tbh the G&D Unplugged Mix will always by my fave, though I'd love to hear this other G&D mix with the original depressing lyrics, I think that would be unbelievably heart-string pulling.

I like this one a lot, the guitar does it for me

I wonder who's behind Fatkid

i just liek the breakdown, and the elements for the melody. they did a bad job with the vocals tho. 7/10

Yeah, I read it. From what I've heard so far, it's either :
- Neo & Farina
- a new (unknown) producer
- Neo or Farina + a new (unknown producer)
- Cor Fijneman
- someone else
