Would be worth going just for the local line-up. Four hours of Dave Seaman is just a bonus.

I would be if it wasn't back @ fucking sounds. WHY do they keep putting world class DJ's on SUNDAY afternoons!

FFS put them in clubs on Saturday or Friday nights. Put them somewhere other then a courtyard!

NB: I am biased AWAY from sounds for MANY reason.
NNB: I let that stop me from going to any event @ sounds.

The Therapy CD is pretty damn good tho

Lucien @ sounds last year was one of the best parties of the year for me

SOS once in a while is really good.. nothing better then rocking up early arvo and enjoying some cold ones under the sun whilst listening to some good tunes

Here's my issues with it

1) I'd be going by myself, from cronulla. This requires me to either drive, or catch 2 trains both ways; totalling over 2 hours in travel time.

2) I can't really drink (read above)

3) Sounds crowd

4) I can't really drink due to need of full brain early monday morning. No annual leave until 2004 (have planned trips around AU)

5) It closes too early for any club IMO.

6) (this case), courtyard in may? Winter = may = rain and cold (heaters can prevent 1, but I'm not sure how they get around the rain [ they may have a way around it]

7) I may not be religious, but I agree Sunday is a day of rest

All very personal point, Sounds is a great venue for a lot of people, it has world class acts coming all the time. It just doesn't fit me now. Maybe in a few years, who knows.

Yer I dislike sounds for much the same reasons .. if they're going to put on major international DJs it shouldn't really be on a Sunday night :/

I have the same problems of travel, and can't drink.

But i think its a nice change, rather than coming home at 6am. But its SUCKS when they put them in the courtyard!!

Also winter in Australia is the DRY season, so rain is less of a problem

We don't really have a wet season in Syd, just a couple of weeks in February/March where it rains a bit

Posted by muli on Apr-25-2004 07:29:

there is more precipitation in the summer months tho

My friends @ BOM have something different to say, well about last (two) year anyhow

quote:
The heavy rain continued in coastal Sydney during May with a total of 349mm, the eighth wettest on record.

[16 days rained in may 2003, and 13 in 2002]

PS link Here

LOL .. not that we're being literal or anything

Besides, read this bit:

quote:
The wettest suburb was Cronulla with 545mm which is the highest on record at Cronulla for May.

Only 89mm was recorded at Penrith.

Think about where you live and where Muli lives

Also not too happy bout it being on a Sunday. However i think Seaman is definately worth going to the Greenwood on a Sunday.
Arnt events like these what work sick days are supposed to be used for
