Ficta - Eli (Original / Zabiela Rave Lizard Mix) [GUSIN003]

Produced by James Lavelle's brother Aidan (also behind Vector) and set for full release May 10, this quickly rose to my top track of the year after hearing it on Zabiela's EM and then this past weekend from Jerry Bonham.

The original take is somewhat tame - modest bassline with a pleasant blend of synthwork and strings. Fairly 'uplifting' for progressive house I'd say. Not that keen on the Original tbh. 7/10.

James Zabiela's 'Rave Lizard' remix is an absolute monster. Zabiela adds his signature dark/evil bassline and male vocals to the breakdown, plus some nice breaks elements. Absolutely destroys a club. 10/10

If you're into progressive house / breaks and haven't heard this yet, I suggest you do ASAP. If anyone is interested - this track can be purchased exclusively on mp3 @ Beatport if you can't get your hands on the record.

Remember Zab's mix from his EM, bangin stuff, just the way I like it

edit: thanks for that mp3 store, it had Pillbox - The Watch Tower, a tune I've been looking for for ages! Will prolly buy a few tunes from that store

if only those stores sold uncompressed WAVs or AIFFs... what are they thinking! they should get on that already

anyways, about the track, I agree. It is a monster of breaks. I love the slowed down jungle beat, the dark bassline, the everything. Excellent amazing stuff

this out now then? proper tunage, both sides deliver imo

Posted by Shamez214 on Apr-22-2004 02:29:

in zabiela's remix, does anyone know what the vocals are? or better yet, where are they from?

this is what i've got:

seems so real that you now feel so unexplained
all accounts say ive lived my life
all on my own
now can't you see that i have cried...

now... that 'all accounts say' part is 95% not correct, but who knows? anyone else know for sure whats' being said or where the sample came from?

pretty good package here. I prefer the original but thats just because its regular beat. Zabiela's mix is much more worked and is very cool too & that voice is killer but yeah its break so...
6.5/10 for both imo

Zabiela remix is the sickness..... hotness. My friend gave me this track a couple weeks ago, and I'm just starting to listen to it this week.... wtf
