Visiting London May 17-24
Ok - I'm visiting my friend in London May 17-24 and would like some suggestions of non-touristy things to do in the city for the week. We're having her hen party either Friday or Saturday night, but am basically free the entire week to explore the city and outlying areas. I might take a side trip to Amsterdam.
BTW - she lives in Islington (N1) - which means absolutely nothing to me.
Thanks in advance. And if you ever come to Chicago let me know!!!

Thanks for all of your suggestions....I'll probably spend a couple of days doing the museums, tours etc., but I also want to do as the "natives" do...maybe only in the US we do the cheesy touristy things - like riding the double decker buses in NYC
Any good suggestions for pubs, restaurants etc. would also be greatly appreciated.
I might make it out to Tiesto on Friday - but my friend is not into clubbing and it depends on which night we end up doing her hen party.
PS - DJ Mikey Mike - your sig is hilarious!!!!
hmmm bars and restaurants...
www.london-eating.co.uk has almost every restaurant in town.
i'd recommend the OXO tower at the moment.if its a nice night, then the views you get are fantastic during your meal. ask for a window seat
there are loads and loads of bars in the soho area. it was yesterday that we went to a bar called The Soho, which is down Greek St (near Shaftesbury avenue) which has a cocktail happy hour from 5-7pm during the week.

I'll be also in town on 20-21st, hehe
Going to catch Armin's gig in Birmingham 21-22nd
What better way to spend time
Anyone going to this? from RA....
Deeper Substance (DS), the crew that brings you deliciously devastating house music (as described by DJ Magazine), turns 3 this May. To celebrate they are throwing a special birthday bash with Sander Kleinenberg on 21 May at their usualy London hang, the Rhythm Factory.
As a club night Deeper Substance has developed a passionate, up for it and good looking following, having played gigs in New York, Bali, Toronto, Hong Kong, Zurich, Miami, Sydney and L.A. Their recent gig at Bedrock in London rocked the sound shell as if it was a house party with a full room getting down to their infectious style of house.
With a carefully cropped haircut, dreamboat looks and a softly spoken yet confident demeanour, Sander has gained a large following both on and off the decks. Last year alone the Dutchman knocked up over 250,000 air miles as well as releasing the popular Renaissance Everybody CD. Dont miss this rare London appearance.
Playing alongside Sander will be rising star and founder Demi and residents Alex Sansford and Dennis. Rocking the casbah in Room 2 will be Jimmy Nelson, Vincent and J Cat. So Come strut to the funk!"
The Rhythm Factory, 16 - 18 Whitechapel Rd E1. Aldgate East or Whitechapel Tube. 9pm - 5am, 10 b4 10.30pm 12 after
non touristy things,
have a beer on south bank, very pretty, or take your own beer to hyde park and sit around the serpentine or rollerblade, thats fun.
if you can get to primrose hill you'll get some loverly views of the city, its one of the highest land points.
For the london eye try and go at sunset.
Islington is really loverly for eating and bars, i like 'cuba libra' if you like spanish food and cocktails (happy hr 5-8pm maybe only at weekends though)
camden on a saturday, crazy, a visually psychedelic people treat.
