A Chat in the park with Max Graham
Title: TranceSphere Exclusive Interview
Date: 04.04.2004
The late afternoon sun is throwing an orange glow on the vast expanse of grass; little red-crested birds peck around my feet for the last feed before going to sleep; the palms sway to the warm breeze of sunset. I am sitting on a bench sheltered by a huge Banyan tree, right next to me there is Max Graham, trying to warm up his bones in the Hawaiian sun after a long exciting night. It is the first time that Max has come to Hawaii, and he seems impressed by the beauty of these islands. Surely he impressed us. The promoters of the event, the guys of AYA, were quite concerned that the crowd here might not respond well to Max's sound. Hawaii has surely not the reputation of an EDM-loving scene. But Max again and again bedazzled us for four hours spinning his best at the "Wave", and the crowd went totally crazy, showing him what a warm "aloha" welcome means. The show turned out so good that nobody wanted it to finish, despite the late hour. Fortunately the guys at AYA were prepared for this, and the party went on until sunrise at the "Top of Honolulu", a stunning location in the penthouse of one of the tallest Waikiki buildings, where revelers indulged in smooth tunes and intimate conversation watching the breathtaking view of an awakening tropical city. Max seemed pleased with the reception these islands reserved to him, and he confirmed my impression later in the evening when he postponed his flight to Asia for a last-minute beach party under the moon. After taking a deep breath of fresh air, we begin to talk.
Hello Max. Thanks so much for being here with me in this beautiful park for this interview
M: It is beautiful so I am pretty happy to be here. Thanks for having me.
This is your first time coming to Hawaii right?
M: First time being here yeah. I flew through a couple of time on my way to Australia, but I never had the chance to hang out, so pretty much my first time.
Being your first time, what were your expectations about the crowd here in Hawaii, and how were they met?
M: Well, I was kinda given the impression that they weren't so musically knowledgeable, that it was a young scene which is actually a really exciting time; I love scenes when they are young because people are really excited, getting into it, but the people that have been here before, even the promoters, they were like, you know, "ahh, they might not be able to handle four hours, they might not get it, they might not understand it". But last night I just threw the rules out the window, it was amazing. They said it was busier for the last hour than it usually is, and I felt really good; I had a great time, and they picked up on all the songs that I really like. I was never going "wow, they don't get this; I should change that", they got it and the energy was what I see in other cities.
Awesome, yeah nobody wanted to leave they had a hard time shoving everybody out the door.
M: I know, hehe yeah exactly

Your interview is better than Ryme's, damn right, it's better than Ryme's.
jk Ryme, yours were very well done also.
Hahaha... thank you guys

Max is such a nice guy...I really think he deserves all that comes towards him. Few DJs take the time to really connect with peeps. Armin lurks but never posts (likely for good reason, but I have met him at a club). And the proggy DJs would be too good to associate with 'trance' likely. Max rules|
Raffy, great interview girl
Reading it made me so depressed though, lol, can't believe I didn't go
Stupid girls...
