I just noticed this in the "cockiest Dj" thread, the thing about people chanting things in a club. Over here people have the most annoying chant of "who gives a fuck, who gives a fuck" and i swear i want to strangle every one of them when they start. As you can tell it really pisses me of. Does this happen much where you go ? I heard the crowd on one of Jules sets ( i think Media, Nottingham) chanting something to the same effect. any thoughts ???

Whoa. That's the first time I have heard about such thing and I can try to imagine how fucking annoying it is Here some people only occasionally scream, cheer and use their whistles but there's no chanting. Thank god for that. I also agree that it sucks if DJ starts babbling something while some track is playing but on the other hand it would be nice to know which track is being played. So maybe an echoing sound "Artist - Tune" _once_ would be ok.

hehe this is very funny. i contributed to the 'cockiest dj' thread, but the best part about this topic is just that its so two sided. on one hand i would love to rail on anyone who chants stupid shit whenever there is great music playing. yet on the other hand whenever a dj is totally working it, sometimes stupid chanting (i.e. the 'oot'oot') or whatever seems very appropriate. of course people always continue doing it beyond where is was formerly appropriate, so then i would like to kick them all in the head. just kidding. peez.

It's the drugs, chanting is cool when your on it, it's stupid when your sober. That's just my opinion.

man...I hate it when ppl chant while therez music going, ESPCIALLY when I am on something!
whistles are fine, since it addz a certain "depth" if the whistlez are going to the beat...

O.K. i know i started this thread, and i do hate chants, but on the other hand i have been been known to shout a few things whilst on the dance floor, but they are mostly aimed at the dude who does the lights and it usually goes along the lines of " You ******, get a real job !".He's a strange guy.

i've been to some parties and quite often you hear the 'oot'oot' (as biznology named it so well)
but i've been also on a few parties were some people started 'oot'ing fluxland- the italian soccer anthem...
(btw, the dj was not playing fluxland...)

quite a strange experience... i think....
