This is old news all over the place. details are coroberated and abundant.

"According to Dr. Khidir Hamza, who ran Saddam's nuclear bombmaking program in the early 1990s, Iraq's Osirak nuclear reactor was built by the French. When the Israelis determined that the reactor's real purpose was to make nuclear weapons, they destroyed it in a 1981 bombing raid."

"From the moment Osirak was hit we knew we had to try another method to get the bomb," Dr. Hamza told the Washington Times in September 2002.

The year before, Dr. Hamza confirmed that the Osirak reactor was never intended to be anything but a nuclear bombmaking plant.

"I went to France in 1974 to buy a reactor, as a starting point, for a plutonium bomb," Hamza told the Carneigie Endowment in November 2000. "It was a long-range project. The reactor would be inspected by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), and the French would be there."

And even after Osirak was taken out, French assistance was critical to Baghdad's continuing plan to get nuclear weapons.

"Just before the Gulf War, the crash program was ongoing to make one bomb from the French fuel," Hamza told the Carniegie group.

"People were putting stock into that one bomb," he said. "They were afraid of even testing the bomb, because Iraq testing that one bomb would be like telling the world that we used the French fuel."

Dr. Hamza said that in 1990 Saddam ordered him to make a single nuclear device using materials obtained from Paris.

"We made a device, actually, minus the core," he told PBS's "Frontline" in October 2001. "And we sat down and did calculations. ... We would have had a small - probably two- to four-kiloton - explosion at the time. ... But the idea was [that Saddam] wanted it on a missile, and he was mad at us for not making it small enough."

"Undoubtedly, one of the things French diplomats now fear most is that a U.S. invasion of Iraq is likely to confirm Dr. Hamza's account, providing undisputable evidence that Baghdad relied on French assistance to make Iraq's most deadly weapon of mass destruction."

Oh goody, it's more anti-American propaganda with a teensy bit of anti-Israel propaganda tossed in at the end for good measure!

This is a perfect example of what we call confirmation bias - coming out with only the facts that support your position and ignoring all the ones that don't. Except in this case it's even better, because the facts are all 100% unsourced and unsubstantiated! Sufee, I noticed this in the Toronto forum too, you're really really good at making up statistics!

Although it seems many people would be happy to refer to this as "stripping away" the propaganda, as opposed to creating it. Ah well, perhaps I'll debunk this one later, although sufee doesn't take too well to that from what I remember.

Clinton is on the record a few times saying they had WMD. There never was a question about that with anyone really. The UN, French Intelligence, British, German, Russian, Gore, Clinton, everyone agreed they were there.

Everyone once believed (incorrectly) the world was flat. What's you're point? The IQ test doesn't call into question whether anyone "believed" that there were WMDs in Iraq. Sounds like you failed the test.

To the best of my recollection the US has never gone to war with a country because they had a WMD program or in the future that they might start one, until Iraq. Even after Iraq the US has made it clear they don't intend on declaring war on countries involved in nuclear piliferation or have well documented WMD programs such as N. Korea and Iran.

Sounds like you're making quite a hasty generalization here since "the rest" only constitutes one or two people.

Why should we have to PM you? Post your sources, so it's up for public debate, otherwise don't post at all because it's nothing more than propaganda and rhetoric. These things are only "common knowledge" among people who happen to share your point of view and accept your numbers without proof.

Edit: It shouldn't surprise you that the "Zionists" disagree with you because half of your post is anti-Israel rhetoric that has nothing whatsoever to do with Iraq in the first place. Why post it?

Millions yes. Algeria, Egypt, Lebanon, Saddam, Africa, Pakistan, Afganistan. This is all recent history. C'mon open tour eyes, you can do better than that!

Islam is in a sorry state. Fuck the jihad!

Ican coroberate every one of my statements as could others on this board.

Since the primary reason to go to war was based on WMDs and Iraq's violations of UN resolutions, why wouldn't the same behavior exhibited by the Israel be relevent?

Is pro-truth anti-Israeli? No, there are many Israelis (ex. Jews for Justice) that share the same view and are Israeli.

I can't even say whether or not it's relevant because the statements are completely jaded and uncorroborated. One could theoretically create any artificial relevance they choose if one is given the option of pulling facts and figures out of one's ass.

So there is no relevance of two countries in the same region who have secretly persued WMD programs and violated UN resolutions?

your barking up the tree of an inconsistant analogy.

Here's why:

Israel has never (as in not once, never, nil, zero, nada) been condemned by the UN for WMD.

Anyone who knows the often the UN condemns Israel should be awe struck by this.

Second, Israel doesn't have a WMD program

Third, Israel has never been sanctioned or regulations/restriction imposed because of its WMD policy.

Fouth, Israel has never been aggressive to its neighbors and does not pose a threat to the region (so long as no one tries to destory it).

If Israel was condemned the the UN for WMD, did start a war numerous times, and had been sanctioned afterwords to no effect, then your anaology would be compatiable.

Afterall, the same points this anti-zoinist raised regarding Israel's WMD endevaours could just have easily been "facts" for Iran, Libya, Syria, Pakistan, or Sudan. Nope, the author just to discriminate soley against Israel in this cause (clearly antisemtic ).

So to address your statement again "So there is no relevance of two countries in the same region who have secretly persued WMD programs and violated UN resolutions?" No! There are MUCH MORE than two countries in the region. So why pick and say there is relevance with only one?

40 Billion na d all the world's problems are solved.... right...

We can't even rebuild Iraq for 40 billion..

Gee, awfully convenient to forget Iraq's #1 Chem/bio supplier, Germany. And Iraq's #1 nuclear supplier France, and Iraq's #1 delivery vehicle (for WMD) supplier, Russia...

I guess the "Prevention of Genocide Act of 1988" that was unanimously passed when we found out about Halabja doesn't count...

Wrong.

A: 40 tons

20. Q: What according to the UN was the increase in cancer rates in Iraq between 1991 and 1994?

Great, only WMD [oops EDIT: DU] can't be shown to cause increased cancer rates. In fact, the most likely reason why Iraqis had increased cancer rates are from Saddam using his chem weapons in the Shiite areas of Iraq...

Yep, and they were right on the $...

Yeah, it's criminal that UN oficials, as well as several European officials greased their palms with oil-for-food money. Every single death rests on their shoulders if these allegations are true.

quote:
34. Q: Did Saddam order the inspectors out of Iraq?
A: No

Wrong again. 1997/1998

quote:
41. Q: How many UN resolutions did Israel violate by 1992?
A: Over 65

Better question: How many of those resolutions are actual binding on Israel?

You might be right... they may have never been condmened for WMD, i'll tolerate that..theyve just been condemned for dozens of other things.
