Nth Korea train accident

Why are they trying to keep it a big secret?
One news source said that the government, disconnected the phone lines so the news wouldnt get out.

quote:
"There was no collision," said the official, Masood Hyder, the United Nations humanitarian coordinator in North Korea.

It really does remind me of comical ali, during the invasion of Iraq.
Its also really hard to find anything on it, kind of makes me think why the secrecy?

news link

and another here

kim il jong keeps it such a secret because if they accept international aid, the people who have been brainwashed into thinking they are the richest nation and the best country in the world will start to wonder about the outside world. and why these people are so nice.

and that will undermine kims authority, and power.

we all know whats going to happen to those responsible for the accident. execution, torture, or savage imprisonment. and dozens are likely to die because of the lack of medical aid.

Only sad part is it didn't blow up when Kim Jong-Il passed through the town on rail about 9 hours earlier.

Sad sad

...nothing to say except it revolts me .....south korean 's hospitals and chinese have been waiting since friday at least to receive injuried people coming from north korea ....but no one came because north korea doesn't allow anyone to go out from this country ....too afraid that they would never go back ....

that's revolting to see all these people died and will die because no one takes care of them ...and we are just watching ....

Agree. The amount of paranoia and unadaptability in people like Lil Kim is fascinating. It's like he believes that allowing foreign doctors to treat patients is the introduction of having his country controlled by foreign forces.

Just giving him a taste of his own medicine

Heh, it seems like they did allow some of their people to go to China and get some medical treatment. But what really cracks me up is that there is no mention of the crash on the NK TV whatsoever. They are currently transmitting the celebration of the 72nd anniversary of the people's army

When I first heard that his imperial carriage (or what ever its called) passed along the same stretch of track just pervious to the explosion, the first thing I though was "Assassination attempt!", though realistically it doesnt seem at all likely.

You read the same thing that I did. But you bring up a relevant point. Just what is likely in the secretive Nk world?? Will they light off a nuke this year to join Pakistan and India as a newly declared nuclear armed nation? The only thing that seems certain is that they will cloister themselves against the outside world and let their people continue to face starvation and ruin as a result under a brutal dictatorship.

everytime i read something about north korea, i feel so bad. that country is really a mess, and i'm not sure at all what to do about it. an invasion would *probably* not work since they have a huge army (even though it's not modern, it's huge). let's just hope that kim dies and someone more liberal takes his position or that there will be a revolt sometime, but the problem is that these people are toooo brainwashed so they don't know about the better and therefore a revolt is hard...
