sounds good!! btw...nice avatar...hehehehehe
vinyls gets too hot and uncomfortable. The music is oht but club is way too small. can't stand it when it gets too crowded
i know the feeling... don't get me wrong... i love him to death... but, the sound system and the heat in there is unbearable sometimes. Whenever i get the chance, i try to hear Danny elsewhere... I'll be hearing him in VEGAS this weekend... and then Junior and then Gatecrasher... woo hoo... i've got a thing against going to Limelight, so i assumed that I'd never get to hear them in the states... but looks like i'll get the chance... It's gonna be a pretty sick weekend me thinks... i also heard that gambling is legal there in Vegas... but who has time for THAT with a line up like this?gamble? huh?
I wanna gooo.
But my friends are Exitheads. They arent into trance/deep house so i dunno what im gonna do. Twilochik..wanna go?? lol
Exit is gonna close on friday for like a month. They're gonna renovate the whole place. New lighting and they want Twilo's sound system. Its funny how they refer to it as "Twilo's System" and not as the Phazon sound system.
if anyone wants to know where i got this info..My friends a bouncer there so there you go
ditch ur exit friends and join us
Ive always been by trance and the people who are into it. But not alot of people are into it, and thats good cause i dont want it to get commercial like the stuff you hear on Ktu latenights. Everyone here in Bayside/Whitestone Queens is either a Soundfactory or Exithead. It sucks, but atleast i have the club scene in common with them , so i go there onfriday nights occasionaly.
Ill join you guys anytime. Few months back i went to Twilo alone, cause no one but i was interested enough to go see PVD. Might sound kinda crazy..but i had a better time alone then all the nights ive been out with the boys.
I met lots of cool kids at Twilo...the Twilo Crew...hehehehe and we still keep in touch and go out together here and there. We should have a TA meet up at these events. I'll be in the hamptons this weekend so I'm not going to any of the events in the city. But hopefully with this new party @ world emerging it will give all of us a new home! I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
We should def. have a twilo meetup =) like what we had @Buzz/Nation.
With the facts that each of you have gathered about Twilo..In your opinion, Do you think it will re-open? With the same name, same style? etc. Ill move to Cali if it doesnt open lol cause NY is way too trendy for me.
i know for a fact there will be a twilo 2 openin soon. i dunt have a def. dat on it but the place is on its way. & dunt step in all the bullshit either. mad rumors floatin everywhere so be weary. neways...the name might change becuz of the city. I heard it might be called playpen but dunt count on it.
ever since twilo closed, there hasn't been a place in nyc where people can enjoy GOOD music. i mean...there are other clubs but it doens't come close to Twilo. and i mean how Twilo used to be. Toward the time it closed, some things changed for the worse but still a great place to hear great music.
neways...i was in la this past may...and la is a nice place to live, but it doesn't come close to nyc nightlife. stay here and wait for the openin of Twilo 2.
'NO OTHER PLACE ON EARTH'
I heard rumors right before Twilo was closed down that the management was actually thinking of selling or closing Twilo to open up a new venue around the same area. But Twilofreak you mentioned something about them not calling it Twilo again....the way you said it made it seem was that the name was changing bc the city would be all over a new club called Twilo...that's just stupid. May I remind everyone that there was a club in the space where Twilo was before it was "Twilo"...that club's name was Sound Factory...yes to orginal SF was at 27th bwtn 10th and 11th. You don't see the city shutting down the new SF just because of the name. The new SF is completely diff management then the old one. And they city doesn't go after a name...it goes after the management. Hence why Gatien sold Lime Light. The city will haunt Twilo's management anytime they try and open a new venue. And good luck to those shady bastards b/c I doubt the city would even grant them permission to open a new club after the stuff that took place at Twilo. Don't get me wrong I loved Twilo but lets not be so blind to think that Twilo was some how free from the shadiness and greediness associated with club owners. They weren't about bringing Trance to America...they were about making money...why else would they charge 20-25 when PvD was relatively a no one in NYC to jumping the price to 35 on a regular nite when the crowds got bigger?!?! Money...they saw $$$. I think the DJ's that spun there attracted the type of people that we liked to party with, not the venue itself. Twilo was a great place b/c it had great DJ's. And I'd be glad to go to any other club that brought those DJ's back. I think it's time to let Twilo rest and focus on getting these DJ's back here to NYC!
You're right twilochik, the actaully venue doesn't make a difference. The DJ's do. The DJ's attracts the crowd, and the crowd makes the atmosphere.
But answer me this, which other place can you get that awesome atmosphere Twilo had week in, and week out? (NONE right?) And I give some of that credit to the workers at Twilo. They made the place more comfortable/enjoyable (and compared to other places, they actually had some class). Well, they did until this mess w/ the city started and got blinded w/ greed. Then it juss fell apart. I dunt disagree w/ you on that part.
Admittly, Twilo in its prime was the shit~! There was no other place like it. And only the few lucky people who got to experience it knows exactly what i'm talking about.
I would do anything for a place like that to reopen here in NYC and be able to call it home again.
TIMO MAAS LIVE @ CENTRO-FLY SEPT 1ST
Twilofreak...Twilo had its place and time...and now that time and place have come and gone. Twilo was a good club for the musik...but the club itself left much to be desired. Walk into a World, Saci, or Centrofly...much nicer clubs. But they don't get the names so the crowd is whatever not my type. This new world party is promising...I'm looking forward to hearing my fav DJ's in a the first club I walked into this summer anc actually felt at home...even with Oakie spinning. I got the same comfortable feeling I got at Twilo...and that was my first time there...so that says something to me. I'd rather let Twilo live on in the great memories I have then to try and ressurect something that went horribly sour.
well said...
