Why Al-Jazeera didnt show the italian hostage execution

How foolish of me to think that al-jezeera was censoring the italian hostage execution because it was too bloody.

quote:
As the gunman's pistol was pointing at him the hostage "tried to take off his hood and shouted: 'now I'll show you how an Italian dies,'" he said.

of course al-jezeera wouldnt want to show such western heroism over the supposed arab dominators - thats just bad propoganda, duh

Its interesting to note that the Italian hostage struggled hard, as I've read in other reports, to remove his blindfold, I wonder why it is such a strong instinct to see your killer at the moment of death?

We should certainly clue the Italians in on the whereabouts of the Italian captors - a general area will do. We can confront the abductors with the Fajullah scenario which is yet to develop. The only development left in Fajullah is that we will kill the insurgents and terrorists. We can help the Italians do the same with these thugs once we surround them.

How does this article imply (under your reasons) that this is WHY al jazeera witheld the tape?

I love this:

If they show the video, they'll get nothin but complaints bout how bloody it is
&
If they do not show the video, they'll get things like: Ah, they dont want to show how the Italian guy defied the killer....

well, what do you want???

of course this is my reasoning as to why they decided to censor it, i have no shame admitting so... but i guess we can all agree it definitely wasnt because "it was too bloody". i mean how worse could it have been then the american contracters burned bodies being dragged around and mutilated?

although i wouldn't put it past al jazeera censoring the tape because of heroism, i think (well imo) an execution is more disturbing than post humous mutilation :/

Worrying about how bloody something is has never been Al-Jazeera's style, why start now? I don't believe the original post was referencing whether they should show the tape or not, but rather their rationale for not airing it according to Al-Jazeera, as they usually show everything they receive from "freedom fighters, terrorists, insurgents, et.al."

I was going to post this as well. Many european news channels also showed the burned bodies being dragged as well.. but showing an actual execution is something of a touchy subject when a producer might choose to air it.
With respect to daniel perle, i dont know about Al-jazeera airing his death... but his death was on the internet... inm sure it could still be found.
