You're gateway into Trance
Okay well I admit to being a new convert but I got into Trance and a whole lot more electronic muscic through Chicane's Behind the sun as well as Dreamland by Robert Miles, how about you?

By chance I heard Judge Jules show on Radio back in early 1998, started listening and recording to cassettes. Then found the Euphoria line of CDs in 2000. A friend lent me his CD player on a flight to Bangkok and listening to:

Tilt - I Dream (Tilts Resurection Mix)
BT w/ PvD - Namistai
that mix blew me away!
and more recently hearing stuff from Ferry Corsten et al
I guess I've sorta always been in to electronic music my entire life. I used to listen to stuff like Erasure, La Bouche, etc when I was a kid. I was (and I still am) a huge Mortal Kombat fan, so when the movies released I bought both soundtracks which contained a good amount of electronic music on them as well. Then as I got older I listened to rap/hip-hop for about 5 years. I started to get bored with rap around the time Napster came about and my friend burned me a CD that contained a variety of MP3s.
This was where I got heavily into EDM, when I discovered Antiloop on that CD my friend gave me. Napster was one of the greatest tools I'd ever used, which is where I found the majority of music that I enjoy to this day and I also found trancEaddict on there. Since then I've never been able to go back listening to commercial tunes.

Yeah I can definitely hear where almost any collaboration with Jan Johnston involved could do it for you, good stuff

Seriously though I will check out all your recommendatins as soon as I get a CD burner and free up my HD. I've discovered so much amazing stuff this past few weeks, astral projection, infinity project, plastic angel, Chris Fortier etc, my mind has truly been blown open and I guess there's no no turning back but I mean wtf you know?
Back in 1998 when I heard Cafe del Mar 
robert miles - children --> grace - not over yet, crecsendo - are u out there?, s-express - s-xpress, chicane-offshore--> discovered the trance nation series (mixed by the then, largely unknown dj and producer system f AKA ferry corsten) and that really got me started

Yeah a lot of those sets own, the Galaxy chillout with a lot of Chicane as well as the kruder/dorfmiester(astral projection?)Trans fatty acid set, well at least the first 17 minutes or so, and a whole crapload of other fine stuff, man i gotta get me a CD burner this week)

Ray Munns - Ray's House. Bought it after seeing an ad for it on tv that had Castles In The Sky playing in the background and Ray Munns twirling his arms like a wierdo. 
For me it was a bunch of tracks I heard here and there, Prodigy, S-Express, but it was when I moved to the city, and tuned in at the weekend to this show where a local DJ spins for an hour, I remember the DJ, his name was Jamie Allan, he was amazing, I still remember the first mix I heard, which was by him, and can tell you what the trackslist was and when and how it got mixed, I had recorded it on tape, but lost it some how.
That and my older brother was getting into EDM, and one of his friends had Techs and a mixer and a bunch of other things that he brought over to our house, was amazing to look at, blew me away, but I don't remember the equipment apart from the Techs because I was 9 years old at the time.

I was always into Trance and such things. I was first into freestye through my sisters influence. Then It went into everything else. I like trance but its not limited to it. I am into dance, techno, happy hardcore, and Italo Dance. Plus this is the best kind of music around.

Actually the first EDM track I remember hearing is The Immortals - Techno Syndrome back in 95 when I saw Mortal Kombat the movie. I didn't know there was more music like that until six years later.

Seriously. It sorta served as a notice that "techno" isn't just bad Super Mario remixes on P2P programs.
I quickly discovered DJ Sammy, got sick of that in a month, heard Sandstorm in a Van Dyk set, and kept listening.

Real McCoy - Runaway probably got the electronic music bug going
I was into euro and rock for the mid 90's then into jungle then into trance then into other genres...I'm truly an electronic music fan.
