Kill Bill Vol. 2

just saw this movie tonight and I am amazed
fucking brilliant!

i definately prefered this to vol 1, its much deeper and more involved. its genious

tarentino is crazy!

anyone else seen this?

Absolutely owned by this!

couldnt get my eyes off the screen for a second. Big call to make but definitly one of Tarantino's best in my opinion!

Such a simple olden day Kung Fu plot modernised and turned into something so creative and intriguing to watch!

gotta love this guy!! KB2 is a classic!

..oh and Uma Thurman -- Baby!! What a hottie!

great movie. Had avery different feel than the first.

On one side I was let down by the less intense action and fight scenes and clevel timeline movement and anime cartoons....

but on the other side, the story became much more in depth, and tarantino's true skills exploded with the use of dialog.

Like you, my eyes were glued to the screen!

I cracked up win the scene with Elle Driver.. I thought that was pretty cool.

I did guess how it would end about one third the way through, but it was a great ending nonetheless!

Go see it if you havent!

:strokes beard:

anyone else have "pay me" immediately spring to mind when they see that name?

Posted by [ groovypants ] on Apr-27-2004 05:05:

Hehehe the flick/stroke of the beard cracked everyone up @ the cinema's Though its a common thing in chinese movies.

Pai Mei is chinese for White Brow :P

And if you guys watch closely, when Pai Mei laughs - the sync is out of time and is actually dubbed by Quentin's voice/laugh!

Awsome Movie . . Pai Mei was so fkn good.
The beard stroke after the Chopstick incident is the funniest. It's just so called for! And he looks so proud!

IMHO Vol 1 was better, but this was great to tie everythign in together, bit dissapointed with the ending though.

Overall another good one by QT.

absolutely loved this movie

i preferred volume 1 though

I wanna watch it again just for Pai Mei The eye squishing scene was disgusting but a classic moment. The crowd's reaction was one of the best ever Did anyone not look away from the screen?

Posted by webmeister on Apr-27-2004 12:44:

Loved every moment of this .. Kill Bill 1 was Tarantino being someone else, KB2 is just Tarantino being Tarantino.

Rather than 25 minute action scenes, we're now getting conversations about Whoppers with Cheese in Holland and foot massages (not literally of course)

Definitely one for the DVD Box Set collection

1. was a kung fu, 2. was a western

a western with Pai Mei

I think he ran out of fakeblood for the second one, cause he used so much of it in the first :P (when she fights the crazy 88). It was very different to the first, which i really enjoyed. The scond had more cool dialogue that we love tarantino for.

I liked the first more, but they are both great films. I think the first was much braver for tarantino, where he just went hog wild, the second was more playing it safe.

Posted by matt_a on Apr-28-2004 08:47:

You guys do know that it was one movie split into 2 don't you. So its not like Tarantino decided to make the second one different. It was one big movie, but the producers/whoever said it was too long for one movie so they split it into two shorter movies.

I hope the release it on Dvd as one whole movie. That'd rock!

Yeah I know eh

How tacked-on was that opening monologue with The Bride driving the car (also used in the TV ads). Probably filmed about 2 years after the rest of KB, when the studio realised that splitting a 3 1/2 hour film in two = cashola x 2

Well it appears that QT will release both volumes into it's original single edit - called "Fused Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair"

i've yet to watch vol 2, but shall before the week is over.
i must say though, i loved vol 1.

sure, it may lack a complex plot but tarantino's directing is definitely not to be dismissed. just his whole send up of ol kung fu movies is entertaining, from the exaggerated spurts of blood, amputation of body parts, battle with 1 against a million enemies, the deliberate change from colour to black & white during the fights, which continues into darkness with only visible shadows. love it love it love it. and of course the bruce lee outfit heh. need i mention the incorporation of anime.

some of tarantino's ideas are disturbing though [as expected]
i mean, c'mon. ppl paying to screw chicks in comas is pretty.. eh, distasteful.

And not to mention the thing with the blood, disgustingly brilliant!

Recently a person who worked in a well known hospital in melbourne was sacked after people found out he was fucking the ppl in the morgue. Now necrophilia is more disturbing then ppl in coma's

Pai Mei was the best part. I think.....been quite a while since I saw it....I bought the DVD cause it was cheap and the second was coming out the next week (I think I got Vol 1 and Reservoir Dogs for 20 bucks on a special sale hehe).

Of course, this was in like March because it was released here in the states then.

I thought you guys had already had it as well, I guess I was wrong.

I think my tastes have changed a bit since I was a teenager and Tarantino walked on water to me....The ultra-violence just does not appeal to me as much, but his twisted sense of humor comes to the fore in the second one which I did enjoy a lot
