Re: damn...audiogalaxy
Look at this search:

?!??
example:
Want a track called Alicia keys - fallin
search for
Alicia keyes
or
fallin'
It aint that hard
2 bad ag started this.. ah well..
Possibly the start of Audiogalaxy going down the same path as napster. Hmmm.
i just do what henkie henk suggested
........worx everytime

Paul's right though, this is what was happening to Napster when it started to go downhill.
I hope AudioGalaxy figures something out, or we will have to go back to sharing just a little here and there.
I'm pretty sure e moct of the TA's have a place to get new tunes. We might have to get back to real peer-to-peer sharing.

i dont wanna lose you, AG!![]()
U could see it coming...
well, I guess there will always be other search engines like AG and Napster and WinMX that will show... So I guess U can be relaxed...
It will also prolly go down!
hey gguys its not happened yet!!!dont be all sad
look at the positive things...ag has NEVA been mentioned on the radio...its no where near as popular as napster was..and if it does shut down itll be like a year at least yet
be happy ppl

i think it might be ok..and if its not there will always be somewhere else

It would be very sad and upsetting if AG followed Napster's fate. Many trancEaddicts would suddenly be cut off from their favorite music.
I disagree. Theoretically speaking, we make up all of our sources of music.... audiogalaxy just acts as the liason.
AG could shut down tomorrow, we'd still find a way. All we have to do is the same thing we did when Napster closed copyrighted music: we just all agreed to go some place else... that other place was AG. Now, if AG closed down, we'd all agree to go back to Napster (it is still up, and there are still things to be downloaded there....)
I don't know about you guys, but there is not a single song i've downloaded off of AG since i've been on AG that has been closed to downloading due to copyright restrictions.... what are you guys downloading, Britney Spears? Who cares about copyrights, they really don't affect us.... And anyone in the trance/techno scene who does have the copyright restrictions up on AG, i have managed to get around them and find other ways...
Don't really think it's an issue. But this is a good thing.

ya, i know u can always search for a different spelling or reverse the title/artist
...but for hard to find songs, u get so many more hits with the correct spelling & if they're blocked then u don't get much choice

anyway, until there is copyright-managed mp3s i can't see audiogalaxy getting too bad...only they may start blocking more songs, but for the majority there will be a way to get them

I stopped using AGS cause it just slowed my modem down to like a quarter of it's speed. I only have 56k so thats pretty damn slow.
so far it's been pretty good to me, i've had no real problems
except for the fact that you have to share more than 25 files before you can download more than one file at a time...
damn, rebuilding my collection is going to take longer than i thought
I hope I never have to rebuild my collection.
I would have a whole damn lot to rebuild.
I just coppy all my mp3s into a zip file than I copy them to a cd so incase my harddrive crashes.
