Cheaper Behringer's in China?

So I'm going to HK/Beijing this summer... are the Behringer mixers REALLY cheap over there considering they're made in China? Also is it easy to find DJ equipment stores in both these cities?

well allen-heath is made in england, and the xone 92 cost more over there than it is in america, so who knows

Posted by trancintaiwan on Apr-29-2004 03:11:

So, are Behringer products readily available, and if so are they cheaper than online?

I want 4 channels, and my sound system is cheap, and my needles are cheap, so if anything is going to crap up the sound it's going to be those two things.

Yeah, Behringers are pieces of shit, i just bought really decent speakers and I can now hear everything thats going on inside my mixer, i now have channels mixing with each other, i guess theyre touching on the inside, the level indicators dont turn on every time, its as if i dropped it, but it hasnt moved. There is unacceptable line noise. Spend the extra $ and get a decent mixer.

u must be kidding man, let me tell u something, i've got my Xone 62 for $8xx w/$200 rebate and i thought thats the lowest price i can get. but my friend in China told me he just got a Xone 62 for about $5000 RMB which is about $640 USD, so what do u think? i'm sure u can get good deal in china, oh btw and my friend got CDJ-100 for $2000 RMB($250 USD) couple years ago when i got mine for $299.99+tax

Posted by eMin on Jun-16-2004 02:57:

oh 1 more news, DJM-600 in China now is $750 USD and u can ask for the Made In Jap model too if they have it in stock just like the CDJ series, they have China and Jap model, but SAME fucking price, lolz

Behringer mixers ? no way sorry..........

New mixers can be picked up reasonably cheap from the dealer on the left hand side of the entrance to JJ's in Xinjerko.

If you are looking for cheap dj gear in Beijing, try the electronics market at ladies street, there's usually a few decent mixers around, 2nd hand from defunkt clubs. And before anyone says, don't buy 2nd hand, we picked up a boxed Yammy SPX1000 and mint condition DJM there.

Insist on checking the faders and line/phono input switches, crossfader for crackles and dead spots on left and right channels at output.

As for Japanese pioneer gear CHECK THE VOLTAGE, JAPAN IS 110V and China is 220-40. Buying a decent step up transformer is essential as there is often quite a lot of noise in the signal with local Chinese transformers. Better to buy the higher voltage model......

Happy hunting.

after havin a behringer djx700. id NEVER touch another behringer product...

Their rackmounts are okay, not too pricey, I installed some of it in Vic's a few years ago and although the speakers were budget and intially for lighter use anyway. Generally their processors work fine until they are tampered with..

Yeah, the mixers are pretty naff, there's something wrong with the input stage.

My prefs are, Pioneer for club, Technics for turntablism and Mackie for small bands + studio. Anything bigger is Yamaha.
