dealing with...

i dont know how to deal with this:

ive been dating this girl for a while and a lot of people still think that she is better off dating another guy (a really good friend of hers). i know (she confirms) that we're both happy with each other, but i dont know how to deal with my anger/disappointment (or some other word i cant think of) that people are openly saying that she is better off with this guy.. i know the normal response will be: who cares? you're happy with her and so is she. just ignore. but i dont know why but its hard to deal for me.. people supposedly my friends think like them too which is .. yeah.. suggestions?..

Not to plant any seeds of drama, but these people COULD be jealous. I don't know, I am NOT good at these matters, but I'm calling it as I see it. If you two are happy with each other, bless your heart, and FUCK what everyone else says, thinks or feels. You two are all that matters, not them. Best of luck.

Ignore them, and tell your girlfriend to do the same. If you're both ignoring them, then one day they'll give up.

By the way, have they ever said "why" they would be better together? It can be jealousy, as DarkAngel said

Time to take a step back and evaluate the relationships that you have with the people that you call your friends.

Just do what feels right dude.

man i'd just let it rest for now, and if anyone tried to bring up the subject with you again i'd say something along the lines of "so what, you want me to break up with someone who's made me so happy??? WTF?!" then i'd go off at them and pretty much emotionally blackmail the fuck outta them until they say "fuck man... sorry, i didnt know she meant so much to you, shit... perhaps i shouldnt touch subjects that are none of my business"

you get the point... when shit like that happens to me i turn manipulative

Best advice in this thread. They're supposed to be your friends and they're supposed to be happy for you. So tell them to stay the fuck out of your love/sex life and let the two of you make your own decisions, otherwise they can find new friends.

Don't "let it go" - stand up for yourself.
