World's Toughest Sport
Check out ESPN's bullshit findings . Baseball above footy? Give me a fuckin' break.
That's mostly because of the Hand-Eye category which is almost non-existent in football. I'm surprised it scored as high as it did (In HE).
Bull Riding should rank #1 in the sport in which you are most likely to break bones...
[[[smoke]]]
I def agree that boxing is #1. People a lot of times don't realize how hard the guys hit, but a lot of these guys could easily kill a normal guy in the ring especially in 10 rounds.
I'd say probably the single toughest sport event is probably the Tour De France though. I honestly have no clue how those guys do it. Maybe one stage, but not like 20 days of riding with only like 3 breaks at 100+ miles a pop up mountains.
I kinda agree that footie might be tougher then baseball, but as an american and a former hs baseball player as well, I know why they might think it's tougher then football.
Like soccer, baseball is mostly all skill and talent. Just that by specific skill though, the skills in soccer are easier to develop then in baseball.
You can take a kid and teach him how to kick a ball in a day. It takes alot of time for kids to develop how to hit a ball coming at you at a high rate of speed. Or develop catching fundamentals.
Nothing against football thoguh.

Yes, everybody can kick a ball, just as everybody can hit a ball with a bat. But to refine both, you require training. Also, comparing hitting a ball in baseball and kicking a ball in soccer is different, since there's more to soccer than just kicking a ball. |
Decathlon? I'd be fucking knackered!
what the shit happened to cricket
OK, if anybody has ever wrestled before, I mean in a tough wrestling program or camp, or actually been in some matches, they would agree that wrestling is much tougher than fuckin basketball and football for shits sake. And don't get me started on baseball. I have competed in most of the top 10, and wrestling is by far the toughest. Who the fuck rated these, christ.
For hand-eye co-ordination i'd say cricket
For strength i'd say rugby
i don't see how you can go past hockey. You've got to hit the little puck whilst skating fast and getting hit by big, mean guys.standing still and hitting a ball like baseball doesn't come close.
now if you want to get into the toughest event, it's a close one between the marathon-type triathalons and the iditarod.

im not a big baseball fan but i do know the most difficult single action in any sport is hit a baseball in the majorleagues.... its so hard to hit a ball when its speeding up to u at 90+ mph...
I also think race car driving is extremely difficult , just to be able to drive plus the conditions they put there body through the whole race...
and i would think racing the tour de france is pretty difficult as well
as for tuffest id say Mixed Martial Art competition like UFC, Pride ,ect makes boxing look medicore.
freeriding!
c'mon, i'd like to see somebody from ESPN do a 45-foot road gap or somethin like that
here for more
that sepak tekraw game they play in the far east looks bloody hard ... im sure if espn did their homework that would definately be among the toughest sports out there

| Originally posted by SpecialEd No.. Trust me, even in cricket or baseball. Hiting the Ball with a Bat while it's going a pretty decent speed is hard for an person who's new to the sport. Why have I decided on this conclusion? The other day me and my buddies were hitting baseballs at the batting cages(for you euros, it's a cage where you practice hitting baseballs by a motorized pitcher) and a few of my friends never played baseball in their lives.. And could barely get a couple hits at over a 100 pitches. While I person like myself, who's played baseball for a decent amount of my life hit every ball. That's just based on my opinion, though. Skills in footie are more athletic then in Baseball though, requiring more foot coordination, speed, and quickness. while baseball is more strength, eye-hand coordination, with a lil mix of speed and throwing coordiation as well. That's not my point, though. The difference between hand coordination sports and foot coordination sports is that hand sports tend to be more refine indeed, takes alot more motor skills and complete movement to perform then at footie. The reason I differ that baseball is tougher then footie, is that it takes nerves for a person at bat to coop with hitting a ball coming at You at a high rate of speed. While at every pitch theres the chance that the ball can hit you, or hit your opponant (if not careful) Ever been hit by ball coming at you at 60-70 or even 80 mph? It freakin' hurts. When I was playing baseball, I never really was afraid of getting hit but that cost me a few nails(meaning my nails fell off), broke a finger and broke my nose from getting hit by a ball. In footie I know theres ankle/foot injuries, being cleated(i'm not sure what you guys call it, but whatever getting stabbed in the legs by cleats is), getting kicked by your opponant, etc. But It doesn't seem that bad compared to being hit by a baseball at 70-80 mph. It really does take nerves to hit a baseball while it's being pitched at you.. the pitcher trys his hardest to psyce you out, scare you, whatever it is to make you strike out. Opposed to football where it's all football passing and foot defense. not that football players get rough when it comes to defense, just it just doesn't happen that often due to fear of fouls or penalty cards. Even if that baseball is hated by many or all of non-americans, If you've really tried playing the game with players of talent it gets tough. I've played football, I was very involved in soccer here in the US when I was a kid. Never liked to play the sport personally, was more of a typical american athlete who stuck to our national sports - American Football, Basketball, Baseball, with a few years of high school wrestling. So my opinion may be biased, get over it. |

Actualy Wrestling (like Olympic none of that WWE shit) is fuken hard.
Footie requires the most stamina (you get line changes in hockey like none other)
But really tough - World's Strongest Man comp on ESPN, i guess it's not really a sport but the shit they have to do (like pull a train and bench kegs) is def tough enuf.
boxing is by far and away the toughest sport.
hockey is the most demanding team sport other than water polo that's why it has line changes.Just try and play a full game without a line change?not gonna happen

If you do the sport professionally, then any sport would be hard. Especially, the one with constant physical tension. When quit, many sportsmen are buried in medical bills.
