Push - Electric Eclipse

01. Intro
02. R.E.S.P.E.C.T.
03. Imagine
04. Electric Eclipse
05. Journey of Life
06. Trance-Parent
07. Blue Midnight
08. Universal Nation 2003
09. Tranceformation (vs. Globe)
10. Strange World (Tranquilo's Chill Out Mix)
11. United We Stand

brilliant stuff by Belgium's number 1!
lots of power and emotion..

best track on the album IMO is Blue Midnight, shivers all over..

most powerful track is definitely Trance-Parent.
R.E.S.P.E.C.T. is supposed to be the next single, but i think Trance-Parent will cause much more mayhem on the dancefloor!

ironically Electric Eclipse is the worst track on the album.
and by 'worst' i don't mean it's bad, on the contrary..

overall a very good album and definitely a must-buy!!

9/10

blue midnight is pretty low-quality trance if you ask me. I agree with Airbase... M.I.K.E. just doesn't put very much energy into his music. I've got my favorites, but overall his music is way to repetitive and formulaic.

Posted by TOR on Apr-30-2004 17:21:

clearly you don't know what you are talking about.

Mike is one of the hardest working producers in the scene

and clearly you've only heard the ASOT rip of Blue Midnight

if you were to listen to the high quality version on the album, you'd notice it is a very complex track.

i am shocked to hear this!!!!
how can u think that M.I.K.E. is not good?
i cant believe i am hearing this
first off, M.I.K.E. is mostly respected by me for his simplicity, simple beats, simple bassline, and simply amazing melodies, and yet u and airbase still think hes not good enough

i dunno what to say! im going crazy!!

so this is out now then?!!? can wait to get mine! ordered it like ages ago from the bonzai website, but then it was pushed back for some reason and i still haven't got it! i need it asap ffs!

And who the hell deleted my previous post in this topic?
I am not at all of the same opinion as Im beeing claimed to be in this topic. I actually think this his new album has some of the best tracks Mike has yet done, some can be quite some future classics!

- R.E.S.P.E.C.T. -

This track refers to my nickname M.I.K.E. (anyway, the dots do)
I called this track R.E.S.P.E.C.T. cause thats what I feel when making music
And thats what my music stands for having respect for each other. Well in fact the support of the fans is important to me and one day I played at Gatecrashers NEC in 2002 and someone was holding up a banner saying the words .. and on the 7th day God created M.I.K.E. (check the pic on the Bonzai site). I would never exist without my fans and this record is dedicated to them.

- Imagine -

a world full of peace, no stress, no hunger, no pain
When Im making music, Im alone in the dark, a violet illuminated studio, surrounded by high-tech-machines, far away from reality!
Down there Im in my own world... When Im in my studio I get these visions and hallucinations about the future

- Trance-Parent -

Like the name and one of my favorite tracks on the album
I like smooth melodic lines that make you dream.
Trance music is so diverse
Depending on the sounds you use - its like a painting the kind of colors that are mixed, the better or more abstract a painting gets - So is TRANCE In fact Trance-Parent for me gives the feeling & guidance of having my mother around me, I miss her very much

- Electric Eclipse -

Its the albums anthem & new single.
I was influenced by the sun-eclipse back in 2000, when I was writing this track
I remember the cold rush that came down to earth when the moon crossed the sun.
A scary cold atmosphere but when the sun came back then you see how precious & fragile LIFE is I was watching the sun-eclipse together with my old fellows from the Bonzai Music label, quite an experience that brought us closer together

- Blue Midnight -

My favorite track on the album!
When it comes to real trance music, this is the sound I prefer
Smooth a low bass high floating strings a bit electronic
A touch of champagne a nice girl turn out the lights & here you go!!!

- Journey Of Life -

First single taken from this album back in 2003.
This track was originally a remix, but at the end I decided to keep it for myself, as it was way to different from the original.
It was a quite good follow up to TRANCEFORMATION in the vain of The Legacy. It came along with a Rank1 Remix.

- Universal Nation 2003 -

A re-work of this all time monster-track was not that easy.
As there were previous mixes done by Ferry Corsten & Oliver Lieb. I re-polished it a bit with a more groovy loop & uplifting hook
I still prefer the original one of course!!! Cant beat that one!!! Originally it was a B-side which I made when I was having a big emotional breakdown, yes indeed this record really made my cry inside and outside

- TRANCEFORMATION (vs Globe) -

This track was co-written by Japanese top-producer Tetsuya Komuro.
I started this track as a remix project for globe, but we both liked the end result, so we decided to release it under Push vs globe.
Came in a special package with the Universal Nation 2003 Remix. Tetsuya got very interested in my music after Strange World, he is the biggest electronic producer in Japan. Our record companies got us together when I played for the Belgian National Football Team in Tokyo during the World Cup 2002 and from one thing came another

- Strange World (Tranquilo's Chill Out Mix) -

One of the all time PUSH classics.
We all know we are living in a Strange World and after the stressful moments we experience, this remix is aiming to those who want to sit back and relax.
As the Club Mix took control over the dance-floors, this mix makes you close your eyes, sit back & remember the good old days For me this is just a cool nice chilly remix that brings me back to my senses.

- United We Stand -

United We Stand stands for the message I want to bring inside my music, all together and trying to make it a better place.
This one goes deep into your soul.
A bit more techy than the other album tracks but I really love this one!
A wild trancer with a freaky synthline.
When this track ends, you want to hear the album allover again!!!

finally got it yesterday and i'm not too impressed really! universal nation 2003 and the chill mix of strange world should have been left out IMO! new versions of old tunes on an album is not cool IMO. and i think they both suck too.

the best track on the album IMO is tranceformation maybe, although it's not new either. somehow most these tunes are like too "basic mike". nothing special, but the same thing we've already heard a million times and not even too good at that.

from beyond was much better than this IMO! i kind of feel that this album was a bit rushed and not thought of properly.

and some of the tracks are edited too for some reason.
universal nation 2003 is about 7:50 but it says 9:03 on the album cover
tranceformation is about 6:35 and 7:50 on the cover
the chill out mix of strange world is about 5:40 and 6:06 on the cover.
and these 3 tracks are somehow a bit mixed or sequenced! you can hear the chill mix of strange world starting in UN 2003 and hear it ending in tranceformation! this is really fucking stupid IMO. and there would have been space to put the long versions there too as now the cd is about 76 minutes long. all the other tracks are separate though.
and then there is a copy protection logo on the cover, but there is no copy protection on the disc. the same thing is with airwave's album though!
somehow i feel that the people at bonzai/banshee don't really apprecciate their customers, but this has really nothing to do directly with this album though.

all in all this album was a disappointment for me, but there are still some good tracks on it though. i think that this album could have been A LOT better if it had been done a bit differently, ie no old tunes, full versions of every tune and well, better tunes, cuz we all know mike can do a lot better and push is or at least has been his main alias. i kind of feel like mike didn't really want to make this album or something, but maybe that's just me

push filtered style
keeping money apart from music everytime
keep on pushing push!

remmmmember art of trance madagasca push mix

Posted by nettwerk on May-07-2004 18:28:

mmmkay, so UN2K3 and the Chill Out mix of Strange World are unwelcome in the CD...
... but I kinda like the rest. If it weren't for those 2, I'd say it'd be better than From Beyond.

Posted by TranswavE on May-08-2004 03:12:

One of faves have to be Imagine, such a simple track yet so effective, reminds me of the old old trancemaster days, I also like track ten the chill out mix also, so what if it's an old track, better then having a half full cd.

my favorites from this album are:
Electric Eclipse
Journey of Life - best!!!
Blue Midnight
Universal Nation 2003
