Riots in Iowa
Not sure if anyone heard about this...it was on CNN for awhile...
Be it hard to imagine a riot in the middle of Iowa, it happened about 2 weeks ago during Iowa State University's annual VEISHEA celebration. VEISHEA is a dry event [sad day], but most people just go off campus for booze.
Well anyways, police were sent to a party that was going on in the streets [some 300-400 people] and sure enough as the party got busted and torn up, all the drunks went berserk and headed towards CampusTown [area where all the bars are at and other nightlife and food].
around $45k was done in damage [broken windows, flaming dumpsters of garbage, etc...].
Anyone else's school ever have such an event? [more information here:http://www.theiowachannel.com/news/3016059/detail.html]
ironically enough, about a week later, ISU Pres. Geoffrey decided to cancel VEISHEA for next year.
Michigan State University, basketball.
beat that.
long story short, one october we got half the school to fight the other half, almost literally. we had about 2500 people at our hs, and about 800 vs. 800
all because of me, my friend, and a paintballgun haloween night
I went to some VA Tech rally the night before their game against LSU. It turned into a big ugly shouting match in the streets, pretty soon they chased the LSU people out of town and started getting rowdy and jumping on cars and shit. They called the riot police in eventually and started busting heads.
lol

We had some riots a couple of years ago here at JMU during a blockparty. Some cars got set on fire I think. Now there's supposedly tighter police force, but its usually only when there are blockparties.

in puerto rico we have 3 political parties...
lets just say RED, BLUE and GREEN
so me and my friends get banners from all 3....(we thought it was a good idea)
We'd follow caravans.
so lets say the BLUE caravan was near, we'd pull out the red banner, and so on.
Anyway, we decided to chill a bit and follow the RED caravan...
coincidentally a BLUE caravan was on the other street about to intersect with our RED caravan....
so my friend decides.... hey pull over the truck and he exits with a BLUE banner...then as our RED caravan keeps going, leaving us behind (while the BLUE approaches) he starts kicking our truck, and throwing cans at us....
this got the approaching BLUE caravan into a frenzy and he started yelling at them to join him cuz we "started somethin"
before we knew it....fuckin 20 people are throwing shit at us and trying to knock our car to the side...
we sped off without him...
i looked back and saw the bastard waving a blue banner in the air screaming and smiling with all the others...
|And lemme guess, you were wavin the pink banner?

If we're all starting to brag about riots though (which, imo, is kinda pathetic) lets all take an example of European soccer fans
Doesn't matter whether they win, lose, or draw, people beat the shit out of other people and other things.
A typical Dutch soccergame: The fans of the visiting team are forced to use the train to get to the stadium, so that they avoid confrontation with other fans. They arrive way in advance of the actual start of the soccergame, and, obviously, sit in their own sections of the stadium, which are sealed off by lines of riot police, barbed wire, and a small moat. After the game, the fans stay in the stadium until all the other fans left the stadium already, and then get right back on the train back to their hometown.
I don't know how it works in other countries in Europe, but there are some crazy soccer hooligans out there. (The majority just loves the game, obviously)
Now, who said anything about beating anybody?
ok we borrowed my parents car, and we drove by this kid we called snow cone (this was early 90's, punk was widespread, and he died his hair every week) and hit him with our paintball gunn. he was chillin with some jocks, they were using him for his paintball gun, that we didn't see, so we hit snow cone, drove back for another shot, and our car got lit up. so now the jocks are like his friends cuz we plastered the kid. so the next day at school, in the middle of the 'quad' (grassy place in the middle of the school) and there was literally a big ass crowd of all the jocks, then another crowd of my friends (the rockers, skaters, stoners, etc.) and inbetween everyone, there was about a 2 foot line of no one at all. then me and my friend yelled freedom (like in Braveheart haha) and big ass fight started. lasted for about 20 minutes before the cops came. about 100 ppl went to the hospitol, and about 10 cops. me and my friend were arrested and fined, and snow cone was also arrested.
funniest thing that ever happened at school.
This past new years I was in Paris at the Eiffel Tower and got tear gased 3 times. The riots weren't anything huge, but people were throwing alot of bottles at the cops.

Sorry, but I thing I many have you all beat.
Ohio State University Football. Every year (it seems) we're on every national news channel burning cars and setting houses on fire. I don't live on campus anymore, but the night before the big games, like OSU/Michigan etc. we'd all move our cars way far away from our houses so they wouldn't be tipped over and set on fire the next night. I have a friend that two years ago during the annual riots rode off on a police horse when the officer dismounted. It was the funniest thing I'd ever seen, this big white dude with an afro and glasses riding around on a police horse.
They've really tried to crack down on the rioting, but the funny thing is they still continue. We have the "back to school riot," the "Chittenfest riot" and the football riots every year. They've calmed down a bit, but I will say it is an experience sitting on your porch watching hundreds of people flip over cars and burn them while police helicopters hover overhead and mounted officers are riding around kicking peoples' ass.
