-- Transports 4 and 5, which is better?

Question Transports 4 and 5, which is better?

I was snooping around amazon the other day ordering my copy of Balance 005, when a recommedations page popped up and asked if I also wanted to purchase some of the Tranceport albums. Well I already have Tranceports 1 and 3, and I loved both of them. But I had always thought the tranceport series had died after 3. But I was wrong. On that page I saw the album covers for both Transport 4 and 5, 4 mixed by Max Graham and 5 mixed by Quivver and so I said to myself, "Damn, I gotta get these." But I thought I'd ask first if 4 and 5 are worth the purchase, or if one is better than the other. So let me know, I'd appreciate the input before handing amazon more of my money.

I wasn't aware there was a Transport 5. I did some browsing online to see what I could learn about it and also found out there is a 6 by Trendroid.

I have 4, but I haven't played it in years. I'll listen to it tomorrow and tell you what I think.

Transport 4 is a great album, i havent heard 5 but i know that 4 is fantastic.

A very worthy follow up to oakey dokies earlier effort.

buy 4. its kicking.

It was tranceport till volume 3 then after that it went to transport and 4 is better than 5, not just because max graham is such a nice guy, it is because the tracks are so amazing, hybrid track on it but it was quite possibly the best song from that time, ogenki clinic - first light.

Okay, I just got done listening to 4, while doing research for a paper, and didn't even notice when either CD was done playing; it was that uneventful. In my view it is nothing special, most of the CD is really soothing, but very unnoticeable.

That's part of the point.

I also would say 4. It really brought out the talent Max has.

no question... go with max graham's. This is one of my all-time favorite mix cds (both of them). It took a while to grow on me, but they are so good. Transport 5 is ok, but not exactly my thing.

CD2 of Transport 4 is actually a live mix which I think is cool...not a lot of compilations have that now. Transport 5 is a lot darker but still good. I personally like 4 better but thats just my preference.

i prefer 4

but although i am a massive max graham fan, i have always thought the cd was just a little overrated. its good, but not that good

as others have said, 5 is a bit too dark for my liking (but still not a bad cd) depends on what sounds you are into

Thanks for relistening to it again Nautilus. Appreciate it. Reading the posts on here has only confirmed what my initial instincts were, to purchase Transport 4 and forget about 5. Those Max Graham productions I heard on Oakenfold's Another World made a fan out of me and I can't get enough of Coastline. So I'll definitely go and check out this compilation of his. Thanks again for the replies.

BTW, can't believe they made a Transport 6. Wonder how that is...

They need to change the name of 6 to Houseport.

I actually like it quite a bit. It is true that its a lot of house, but one can't forget tracks like "Sarges", "Fleabitten" and offcoure "Flying". They are very melodic and EXTREMELY well produced.
The enitre album is very dark, and a bit tribal in areas. The recurring a capella from "From dusk till dawn" is a nice touch and is very catchy.
It took me a few listens, but now I enjoy most of the tracks. Some are pure dance/house, but others are very trancy. IMO "Flying" is one of the better trance tracks, on par with "Seven Cities" and "Children".

As far as Transport 4 vs. Transport 5 I personally go for 4 even though 5 has some interesting tracks. For me 4 has more energy, more melody and innovation and I find 5 to be rather repetitive and we all know that can be boring unless done right.
Highlights on 4 are "Redemption", "Slow Motion", "Kittens", Max's own tracks, the Compuetr Hell track and some others I can't remember off the top of my head. Though others are rather boring...

6 was trendoid in 2002

boring shiat that was

does anybody know whether Transport 7 will be released?

afte buying 6 I kind of gave up on the series, 6 was kind of boring IMO. AFter a couple of listens I found the CD to be good for background music, to do work to, but thats about it.
