Thumbs up Tiesto - just be (reviews)

Well guys, believe it or not I got my hand on the new Tiesto CD and I am sure a lot of you guys did as well....

here is the listing :

01 - forever today
02 - love comes again
03 - traffic
04 - sweet mysery
05 - nyana
06 - you are
07 - walking on clouds
08 - a tear in the open
09 - just be
10 - adagio for strings

the song that got my attention was a "tear in the open" as it has the almost the same vocal that was in the movie gladiator, and i think it is very nicely done.

The opening of the CD is very emotional as I think it was done very brilliantely.

some of these songs are a month old and some of them are a little bit older than that I.E (nyana, Traffic)

the rest of the cd is just awesome

High recomended by me....keep up the good work Tiesto!

i have to admit that i didn't really like it. i don't really like any of the new tunes...i think they're pretty pourly done. i wish Street Spirit would come out though...that is fantastic!!

Street is spirit wont be out, beacause Tiesto hasnt got the master rights radioheads rec. company has it
Imo Walking on clouds is amazing

oh don't worry i know that...i just wish i had a copy. maybe i could talk tiesto into a copy next time he's in CO

unhappyly tiesto don't obtained or repeated the same "spirit" of older songs like "urban train" , in my opinion tiesto it is trying change your style of productions and your new album is a example of this, but the album is not soo bad(IMO).maybe i change my opinion later after linten the new album with more calmly.

Only the track Just be is special for me. The rest is just average stuff.

Walking On Clouds reminds of DJ Encore feat. Engelina

Forever Today is the best song on the album.

I liked this album, my fave track was Ur. It's that time of month for me which is Ambient.

This CD is amazing.

My Favourites tracks:

Forever Today
You Are
Adagio for Strings

After hearing most of the songs live thanks to Thirst World DJ Tour and Tiesto playing alot of the album tracks live... I know love this CD!

Tear in The Open is my fav track on the album. We already know Nyana, Traffic and Adiago for Strings are huge on their own. I started liking Love Comes Again after hearing it live as well. That track destroyed the club!

Walking on Clouds is my fav vocal track on the album and I also like Forever Today but I haven't head it live in a club as of yet so I don't want to comment!

You know PvD once said the most important aspect of a track is what kinda atmosphere and vibe it creates when played live, so I tell the mp3 kids not to judge these tracks unless they experinced them the way they were meant to be experinced.

This album will be bigger then In My Memory... just you watch!

I love, love, love, love Walking on Clouds.

Tear in the open is pretty poor imo. not the best cd tbh.

forever today is quality and so is nyana, traffic and love comes again.

although i dont think that this is sum of his best work

totally un-impressed with this album. It seems as though he put very little effort into this. Nothing in comparison to In My Memory. Oh well. He seems to be avoiding a concept in music called "experimentation", for though his overall sound has endeavored into new arenas, his overall production quality is weak and far below what i would expect from his mind. (not to mention that his sequencing is very simple) Not that any trance music is that intelligent to begin with, but it certainly has the potential to be, and besides, prior to the last year or so I have viewed him as one of the more intelligent artists with in the genre.

No thanks to this weak-ass POP music!

hopefully some cool remixes will come also from the good tracks

walking on clouds..one of my favorite choons atm too.

Posted by mto on May-07-2004 01:44:

Love Comes Again, Walking On Clouds, Traffic, Just Be, A Tear in The Open are all good tracks.

Posted by darkace on May-12-2004 03:47:

Wasn't Tiesto's Inncercity 20-12-2003 set opener supposed to be a new production of his to be released on his next album? Whatever happened with that?

Posted by eulerfx on May-12-2004 23:43:

I can't stop listening to "A Tear in the Open". Those synth strings are so powerful. I like it better then "Suburban Train" and I can't wait for some remixes, so that its a little shorter.

From the album, I also like "Forever Today" though not nearly as much as "Magik Journey"

I have to agree that the sequencing is simple and there is nothing amazing about production, but some tracks sound good and I think thats all that matters.

I didnt think much of it at first, as with most tiesto stuff i listen to, then i keep listening over n over and it just gets better and better and better. I Rate this CD VERY highly!!!

This CD CRANKS!!!

I LOVE the whole thing, and yes, id agree in part with whoever said tiesto is trying to change music, i think he is one of the very few DJ's who can actually say he has his "own" style, and he is big enough to cause a shift in music, so why not

if its no good then people wont listen ne way
