This is good.

Nice trance selection.

Question: If the item is listed - I can assume it is in stock and available?

Kingston eh? Do you carry all Tragically Hip's remixes? Good to see the EDM love is spreading out that way. Convert those Queen's Frat boys I say! Nice looking site.

RABBIT: We haven't made it to a real time inventory system ... not yet anyways. We update stock levels twice a week so chances are pretty good that we will have it. Saturday/Sunday/Mondays are the best days to order.

ANGEL: We're tryin our best!! Damn Queens students ...

Just made my first purchase

Pob & Taylor - Aura - BEDROCK - 12" <--- waiting for this one, lets hope it goes smooth so we can have a lot of repeat business.

Like the site, very easy to navigate and uses Windows Media so I don't have to download Realplayer at work.

Cheers.

sorry, but i don't like the interface of the website...only-djs.com still has the best look and ease of use to listen to all tracks on each vinyl. I like the fact that its canadian though, and the prices are in our dollar. good luck trying to gain its popularity though

I am disappointed that those posts have been taken down ... we like some constructive criticism!!

I have been speaking directly with Matt (Shawzy) about his order.

Unfortunately, our webstore does not yet offer real time inventory levels. We have to update these quantities manually so it only gets done twice a week. When Matt ordered his record the title was sold out. I emailed him and told him it would not arrive until the following week when we received our next shipment from our distributor.

Here is where both his and my nightmare began. We shipped the record to Matt via Xpresspost (from Kingston to Whitby this is OVERNIGHT) but it did not arrive for 3 business days. I had spoken with the reps at Canada Post, but they were not of much help. Matt's record arrived on Thursday and to his surprise and mine, it had a scratch on it. I promptly asked him to send it back to us, we would exchange it for him, and ship it back. This is where the order stands now.

To make light of the inconvenience that Matt has experienced, I have offered him FREE SHIPPING on his next purchase with us. We sincerely hope that he continues to shop with us and I would like to personally assure him that this is not what he should expect in the future from BlackBox Records ... service is our #1 priority!!

Let me quickly remind everyone that we are still offering the 10% off promo for all board members. Just type in the discount code TRANCEADDICT during the checkout process and your order will be automatically recalculated.

Thanks for your time

I am sorry that you feel that way.

When I look at the only-djs.com site it seems very cluttered and disorganized to me ... but maybe thats just my obsessive compulsive coming out in me.

it says they specialize in all types of electronic music

isnt that to say that they are then not specialists?

I was the one who actually deleted my post. I was pretty upset at the way business was being done and after trading emails with Blackbox I realized that it wasn't there fault (entirely).
Jay has assured me that everything will be taken care of and although it will be delayed a bit longer I will get my record and the next with no shipping charges, and to me that is customer service.
I have already made my next order and will continue to do so as long as they show me the respect of a customer. As for the scratch, I'm sure it was just bad luck or bad shipping and handling.
One suggestion that I would like to see on the website is separating the House from the Progressive. It's hard to search through 5 pages taking a chance on hearing a saxaphone or nice hard bass line. I find you probably may skip on a title when it may be a gem.

I want to thank Jay for addressing my issues promptly and professionally. Hopefully things will iron themselves out down the road.

Agreed 100%. It hurts my brain to see a Bedrock release beside an Ultra Nate track. Trust me on this......seperating the two genres will help your business. Without the benefit of track writups like on other sites, you need to finely group the genres. Muddling through the giant list without much reference is daunting and unfriendly for the customer and not everyone knows the labels well enough to distinguish the releases.

Great start though....I will be checking in to see the improvements as you get off your feet and maybe buy a piece now and again....although I'm pretty well serviced as it is locally

FF

EDIT: One other suggestion: Where time and bandwidth allow, please make audio samples longer so the meat of the track and overall vibe is heard. I have refused to buy off of other sites for the simple reason of not hearing enough of the track to get the full picture. When it's too short, either the selected sample plays the one minute of quality in an otherwise forgetable track or you pass over a gem because the sample doesn't show the hook that sells you on a track.

Matt - I appreciate your comments/feedback. We are definitely looking into this. Check your email as well.

Form - Thanks for the advice as well. We are going to be constantly improving the site as things start to get worked out. Just FYI ... you can actually click on the track and get a full writeup.
