Flames vs Sharks - Conference Finals

Time for the 3rd of hopefully 4 threads
Flames and Sharks.
We know how to work it.
Predictions, talk of the game, the players etc



and on with it
my prediction, if Calgary can win one of the first two in San Jose, we take the series.
Kippie lets in 1 goal in game 1. Who knows if the Flames score.


now weve got the whole country behind us. Calgary is now Canadas team(can you believe that, it seems so strange)

to everybody who hasnt watched flames post season yet, watch a bit of game 3 or 4(in Calgary)
check out the crowd. THAT is a hockey crowd. Its insane.

I got hit by the bandwagon, and now im sstuck to the grill, and ill i can say is.... GO FLAMES!!!

Sharks have a way better goalis than Detroit. So I think Flames in 7.

I never thought I would be saying this but 'Go Flames Go'

Nabokov is hot, true, but I thought CuJo was pretty sweet in the series against Calgary; Detroit lost because they couldn't score a goal in either game 5 or 6.

My prediction is either Flames in 7 or SJ in 5. Like jspot said, I think it depends on whether or not the Flames can get a win in SJ. The only result of these playoffs I've predicted correctly was MTL over Boston in 7 though, so I'm not exactly gonna be betting on this =P

this is probably gonna be calgary's toughest series... san jose is probably the most under-rated team. I think who ever wins this series will win the cup! Running the goalie doesnt hurt either.. since they did it in the first couple series, might as well keep doing it!

San Jose WERE the most underrated team going into the playoffs I think, but you'd have to be an idiot to not view them as one of the elite teams in the league now.

I don't think so. The Flames were easily the most underated team, San Jose finished second in the regular season standings!

I haven't really watched much of San Jose and I am curious to see how "they" play against "us". I don't care what kind of team San Jose is because if the Flames play like they have been all playoffs, I feel the same results will come to them.

my biggest fear, is that the flames play like CRAP against the sharks.
the sharks have had the flames number ever since they started

but this series should be hot and fast. Im looking forward to watching it. And lucky for us, no afternoon games.
It might just be a 'who cracks first'

then again, Sutter might have the inside track on how to beat his old team. SHOULD BE A GOODER!

dang americans thinkin hockey is like baseball with their afternoon games !

Judging by our and their play styles I think that its is going to be a very energetic series. As for a prediction, I would say that the Sharks are gonna win it in 6.

Well....the Flames and the Sharks are almost unequivocally the same team. I give the edge to the Flames for three reasons:

1. Sutter is a master motivator and no matter what he says...he wants to beat SJ bad and his players knows that.

2. Kiprusoff and Iginla - Hart and Vezina candidates for a reason.

3. I AM Canadian. Calgary's home crowd and the backing of an entire nation will keep the Flames energized and focused. Do Sharks' fans actually exist outside of San Jose? Not counting the fans who just think their teal jerseys are "snazzy".

If I'm right and the Flames make the Cup Finals...a round of drinks on me at Marco V. Go Flames Go!

the flames are a much different team now than they were then. I dont even know if there are any of the same players on the team anymore.
