this is my first full-length production. i decided to remix one of my favorite classic balearic tracks, to get me in the mood for summer...

This sounds good, good use of sounds and samples. However I don't think it really adds anything to the 100's of other chillout mixes of this track.

i agree that it's nothing groundbreaking...this was mostly an experiment and learning experience for me. i was curious if i could remix a track i held in such high regard, and come out with something i would be proud to call my own.

though i must say that in all honesty, this is now one of my favorite, if not THE favorite, mix of seven cities ;]

Great work indeed! I like chilled tracks and i think this is pretty good all'n'all even if as already said, it doesn't really add anything new to the track. Ambient Dub still remains as my fav chillout version tho, it just does that something to me. To beat that you need to add something a bit more different, more original sounds and elements or something, i dunno really.

LOL There's only 1 official chillout mix, Ambient Dub and then the fake Yunus Mix which is just an edited version of Ambient Dub. No idea of the other "amateur" chillout mixes.

that's surprising, considering your solar stone avatar...but whatever, not everybody will like everything. sometimes it depends on the environment and mindset you're in when you listen to something... there's really a lot of sound layering and stereo shifting/panning going on. all i can suggest is: find a quiet time & place, close your eyes, and listen with a good set of headphones...
