How do I connect my LP to my PC?

I have a generic soundcard on my HP Pavilion 764N and I got a JVC QL-A51 its a very old one dates back to the '70s I think not sure anymore. It has like those two huge stereo cables that can hook upto a hometheater system but it wont fit in my soundcard? So any ideas or do I need to buy some spliter from RadioShack so that works?

eh? maybe a stereo to 2.5mm converter thing might work
