Are you obsessive complusive about your CDs?
My girlfriend swears I love my CDs way too much. She was amazed to see that all my CDs are not only freakishly organized and stored in leather folders, but that I have also spent countless hours backing them up (mp3 format), neatly catagorized (Artist - Album Title - # Of Discs - Date of Release), accompanied by a picture of the album cover, a tracklisting, and a m3u file for quick loading.
So my question is to what lengths do you take to insure that you will always have the music you bought in one form or another?
all songs are on teh ipod, and ona backup MP3 data disk, and on the computer.
I love my music too much, in case a cd gets scratched or lost, i have back up.
my dad is....with the beach boys.....especially Pet Sounds.....it's been going on for 2 months now....

I once sold them all
Out of the 68, I only regret the sell of 3.
It's impossible to keep them neatly in my house because of my family, so I gave up.
My CDs are stored in cases and I back them
dunno what you mean by cases though! the original cases they were bought in?! if yes, then this is me.
this is a pic of them a few months ago:
and i have them all on mp3 on my computer sorted out nicely. and btw my girlfriend too thinks i'm too obsessive about them! but hey, i just love ma lil' babies!![]()

eh. i must be missin out i dont really have cd's i just have a lot of vinyls that i keep catagorized alphabetically. fyi i did have a few cd's years ago but i sold them for $4, not much of a return on those suckers
I love my music...
all of my cd's from YEARS ago....no scratches...
i wont even lend them to people anymore
people dont know how to take care of them
i burn about 100 livesets/radio shows a month and i give them out if they are like two weeks old unless they are really good then i might keep them around but i just stick too fresh new trance/prog/house in the car and once i got too many i pass them to friends who normally dont listen too trance and see if they like it
i love my cds, its all sorted into draws via genres etc

My CDs are stored in cases but I don't back them up. If i store them properly there shouldn't be any problems with the cds staying in shape..
I store mine in those multiple CD cases that can store up to like 20 or 45 Cd's at a time. I take good care of them, but not all the time. So I need to work on that.
I just store them neatly and somewhat organized.

I hardly never listen my original cds, to avoid scratching them, I just back them up to my comp and if I want to listen them eg. in my car I burn them on to CD-RW.
I only buy music to put it on my computer nowadays. Don't listen to the actual Cds much because I'm too used to my 6000 song playlist and having no repeating tracks.
Have them organised and stored well but dont back them up
I ripped all of my CD's onto my computer, and I listen to them from that when I am home. I have a 20gig ipod that I use in the car, and at the gym, so basically my CD's are only used when I first buy them. Once you have an ipod, CD's almost seem old skool...Does anyone agree that has one? If you are a serious trancehead, like buddy with the 6000 track playlist - hook yourself up !!
Having an ipod is also security. If anything ever happened to my computer and I lost all my music...I would die.

I store all of my CDs in their original cases, but I've only backed-up a few of them. I also never lend my precious discs to others. I rarely store any original CDs in my car, so I just play CD-Rs. And I don't think I'll ever trade any of my CDs, cuz I'm a COLLECTOR.
i used to have almost 400 cd's but sold about 300 of them, only regretted a handful of them but now i dont even remember which ones i regretted getting rid of so it doesnt matter
i keep my cd's organized but not backed up
I do both things. Once upon I time I didn't care about my CDs so I left them out, and then one day I tried to play one of them and it was scractched so it skipped constantly. I loved that CD, and I was very sad. So now I am very anal and I put the CDs back in their cases whenever I'm not listening to them and I make backup copies.
