anyone know where I can get any good quality plugins that are free? Please describe

Do you mean effects plugin? Then Anwida has created a LIGHT-labeled version of their payware reverb FX VST-plugin. Pretty good reverb with a long list of presets that can be tweaked.

some suggestions:
reverb - ambience
delay - retrodelay
dynamics (compressors) - digital fish plugins
