I'm here...

Hey all

Was referred to this forum by Luke Terry, so I'd thought I'd introduce myself. I'm 16 and from Herts - just outside London. Been listening seriously to trance for about half a year now, but my mum's been playing this kind of music (Caf del mar, children) for about 10 years! I guessed I was slowly converted... & in fact now I listen to the 'real'/newer trance... I've converted my mum - she was blasting saltwater - the legacy out of the car on the way home tonight with her friend!

Anway, I've been weighing up my odds of going to godskitchen global gathering. I've never been to a trance event before... so I can imagine it'd be ****ing amazing!! Also, it's give me something to think of during exams to get me through (now I get all the complaints that GCSEs don't mean anything compared with all your degree exams !)

The main thing worrying me was the age limit - for all the UK events I've looked at in clubs it's been 18+... but no-where at all on the GKGG website (even up until booking) does it say that there's a minimum age to get in. Just didn't want to play 50 for a ticket and then be told I wasn't allowed in.

The other things I wanted to know about it were just the setup of the event in general - as I've never been to one I have no idea about how it works - food/drink/DJ set times etc.

Anyway... good to see such a lively lot of TAs in the UK!

Jack

Welcome! Just remember to keep your hands inside the bars at all times

Edit: don't worry about the age limit at GKGG, you shouldn't have too much of a problem, unless of course you are under 4 foot and have a pacifier. It's deffo worth it!

i feel well old :/

Thanks, I think I just pass 4 foot and I kind of grew out of pacifiers when I was 2...

Anyway, as recommended, I'll post my original questions here...

quote:
Godskitchen Global Gathering would be my first event so forgive the probably stupid questions...

So... 1) Is there an age limit? Normally when looking at trance events for godskitchen, they have a 'Strict 18+' notice or something. But looking at GKGG (even up to the booking page), I can't see anything stating a minimum age.

2) 4pm - 6am... I'm assuming there are places where you can get food, right? - just like Knebworth house concerts etc.

3) How'd you know at what times the different DJs come on?

4) Finally, if I like uplifting trance, who would be worth going to see?

Cheers

1) Yes, it is 18+ but you should get in fine. I was 16 when I went to the first GKGG and didnt have a problem.

2) Food: There are little outposts of fast food trailers dotted around the site. They have all sorts of foods; pizza, chips, curry etc, but are run by the same company. Prices do vary, but generally range from expensive to very expensive

3) You can buy little booklets on a chord which you can wear round your neck telling you whos on when, though they usually are about as accurate as a blind darts player. Expensive too, 5!

4) Cant remember the line up, sorry!

be sure to smoke a cigarette on the way in, and youll be fine.

toilets = free and kinda gross
layout = huge and fun even if it rains
set times = no idea but some grt people to see this year, if your willing to move from the main tent that is.

ROLL ON GKGG *Woooo *does wiggle dance in chair *gets strange looks from other people at work *stops dancing

Thanks once again for the help and welcomes

mike_stefan69, yep I am an Arsenal fan... looking forward to a great weekend.

If the food and drink is expensive... what should I do? - think about bringing my own?

Finally... what dress code is it? Anyone give me a quick rundown on what I should/shouldn't wear please?
