DJ TIESTO & PVD venue details announced

wells in case some of you don't already know .. it was recently confirmed on the Guvernment's website that both Tiesto and PVD will be playing in the Guvernment and NOT the Koolhaus for their respective gigs in Toronto..

I'll have to think about it. There is no way I will miss PVD, but I might pass on Tiesto, b/c he attracts lot of outsiders, hence Guv will be EXTREMLY packed.... That almost ruined whole Ferry Corsten experience for me, I don't want the same thing to happen with Tiesto.

What stops them from making it 15 bucks cover and having this party in Kool House????

Absolutely ridiculous. Weekday or not - you know its going to be rammed. Big names like this should be put into the bigger space. Any other club could say they only have one or two rooms and nowhere near the size that Kool Haus has. But Guvt has the ability to use a much bigger space. Take a look at any of the past times either of these DJs have performed and think of how packed it's been. Maybe they'll decide based on advance ticket sales and move it if the sales are high - I suppose that would be the smart thing to do if you were running a club. However, they really need to start thinking about their customers and ensuring they have a safe, comfortable space to party in. Well I guess they'll have to gauge it by Tiesto's night and see how it goes. Personally I don't look forward to being rammed up against a thousand people with no space to dance or enjoy the night.

They had better use the stage. Sticking Tiesto up in the upper DJ booth would just be plain stupid. But don't doubt it since they can ram more people in if they have the stage space available

I suppose that's what it comes down to in the end.

You're kidding right ???....there's NO way I'm going anywhere NEAR the Guv even if one of my fave DJs like Tiesto or PVD will be spinning there...I guaranty you guys that even on a Thursday night it will be WAY too rammed (even if they have the outside patio open too)...After the Ferry Corsten fiasco a few months ago I won't go to the Guv unless it was the last venue on earth...NO WAY....NO HOW

You guys should really stop your bitching about how small Guv is. You have it 10 times better than DC, NYC, and Miami. Guv is twice the size of Avalon, Glow, and Space......and Tiesto is scheduled to spin in those clubs on a friday or saturday night.

Well, that would be a valid point if Guv did not have another room which is made especially for the events as this one. I mean, yeah, Guv is huge, it's bigger than Aria, and still I went to see Tiesto and Armin playing there at the same night, and it was extremly packed. But if there is an option of not feeling like a sardine, why not take it?
We're all spoiled by Kool House ; )))) It's my fav. venue in TO. And the sound there is waaaay better than sound in Guv's main room, sound is shitty in main room when it gets crowded.

Unfortunately that's how it is and for us crying and bitching about it here won't help...just like I was crying about the whole weekday thing.
But in defence of some of the stuff said here last year at the docks it was NOT that rammed on a weekeday and I saw Judge Jules on a wed at the guv about 2 years ago and there was no-one there...so I'm sure it'll be just same as usual.
