Carl Cox
Thinking bout getting tickets to see Carl Cox tonight, but they are 21 euros, like 15 and not sure if hes really worth it or not cos i never heard his style. but then hes a radio 1 dj and quite big in the uk..
anyone heard him before.. is it worth the money? please help!
He's got killer skills on the decks, he was the first person to use 3 decks at once. He plays funky techno, so if you're not into that, then I wouldn't go.
He's definently worth it, even if techno isn't your style, he puts on a killer show, but no one fuckin books him where I live
God damn seattle
Carl Cox is a legend/god, seeing him going wild on three decks and two cd-player is one of the reasons to go and see him. His style is funky-techno with a bit of latin in it.

all good stuff!! never heard funky techno before i dont think! funky house is great, and techno also good.. so i think ill enjoy! gonna go get my ticket now.. will let u know how it goes!
I would pay for see him, he plays tech-house. You'll have a great night, sure!
he's well worth it
he's got mad skillz
but he does definitely not play tech-house, unless he's changed style radicaly since I saw him..
Quite big in the UK? Well, "#1 DJ in the world" is pretty big. Of course it was back in 1996 or so. But he has a lot more skill than some of the more recent "#1 DJ's in the world". I wouldn't have had to think.
hes hit and miss i think. sometimes he plays god-awefull latin-salsa techno, or housey stuff which is just so bland, and un-groovy. on the other hand, some of the techno he plays is fucking rocking

carl cox is my favorite dj. If youre the type that goes up to the front of the booth with pen and paper, criticizing every beat not exactly beat matched, hes not for you.
I like carl cuz he rocks the club nonstop and he will do the guttsiest mixes with 3 tables and 95% of the time hes on point anyway. If you can keep up with techno, you will have a good time. Also, if youve never seen a big black man dance behind the decks, carl cox is top notch.
Just got over my hangover now, the evening after! The club we went to was nice layout, but far to many tickets were sold and upstairs in the main room, u could barely move. saying that i managed to get right up to the dj booth and ure right, he was using 3 decks! and cd decks as well i think.. but not sure. just saw his cd case open to the side. He definately got the crowd going though, even if there were too many of them.
Only managed to stay for 2 hrs in the club cos i got so wrecked beforehand, and wish i hadnt now
dont know where u got the funky techno from, but he was definately spinning techno and think i would have had to been on
to keep up with it all night. good stuff though.
IMHO he's chessy & boring.
