Workin Out Thread

I think there was some confusion as to when this thread started 6 months ago. so i closed it and im beginning a new one.

Feel free to post pics and add advice. here is my original post of today.

********TOTAL RESURRECTION*******

BEFORE (6 months ago I think it was)

NOW (20 minutes ago may 14th)

sorry lighting is totally different and all i have at the moment is a shitty webcam.

Thoughts, comments? What looks wrong? Im really trying to get myself into shape here,
and like the original thread, Id like real criticism. The old stuff helped immensely. Cheers.

PS. I have to click and pose as fast as possible to be using both
my arms hehe thats why its a little awkward.

And this is me about a month ago. Dont have any more recent ones but ive gained about 5 pounds of muscle since this pic was taken.

If you have intentions of getting stronger and not too worried about getting ripped, take protien supplements for faster results.

Thumbs up

Orbax: you could use some work on your pecs, they're a bit flat

otherwise, looking good!

If I were you I'd layoff the steriods they're turning your eyes red.

Posted by Audio Beverage on May-15-2004 03:38:

Nice improvement there orbax! If there are any tips I could give it would be to work on your pecs the most. That being said, I havn't lifted weigths since highschool(that's 3 years now), so don't listen to me

me as of around 4 months ago:

I've lost alot of definition since highschool, and I think I'm starting to look flabby

Posted by torontotrance on May-15-2004 04:19:

hmmmmm maybe I should post my pics....me now....me 2 yrs ago.

I say don't overdo the arms, work on the legs more, you want to look normal....not some guy with big arms and small legs...looks funny....you see those people at the beach all the time.

back to planning my marathon I guess.

Posted by Radagast on May-15-2004 04:28:

Posterior Deltoid - Not quite as developed as other delt heads.

Pecs - Look relatively smaller and less defined (at least the lower/side areas do) in proporton to other areas.

Triceps - Not quite as developed as biceps from what I can see (a front and back double biceps pose would help with seeing this, lats, back, traps, and even pecs)

Lower back - I can't really see it so...

Upper back - Perhaps more thickness, can't tell really

I suggest a most muscular pose and front/back double biceps poses as well as standing relaxed facing toward, away, and to the side to give people more of an overall idea.

I also suggest to not take my advice seriously because i'm neither a fitness trainer nor a professional bodybuilder. And i've never really critiqued anyone else before. The only thing above that I can be 100% sure of is the posterior delts.

EDIT: Yeah legs. Don't neglect the wheels.

Three sets of sit ups....about 50 reps each set. Three sets of crunches on a swiss ball (isolates the abs very well)...about 25-35 reps each set. I work my abs every other day. You must do cardio to really see results.

exactly, you can do abs till your blue in the face but if your bodyfat isnt low enough you wont see the results.

You can get stronger (i.e. gain endurance, power) without needing to bulk up on muscle size. That's what I'm doing right now. I actually need to be just toning my body and losing weight because if I gain anymore muscle in my shoulders I'll need to shop at Big & Tall stores for sports jackets

true ye but protein supplements are exactly the same as normal food except that they digest quicker which would mean they are less beneficial to getting stronger.

uummmm...no. Protein supplements are by far more effective than just eating meat and dairy products.

There are different "kinds" of protein, meaning that there are different protein supplements that do different things. For example, whey protein (this is an over simplification) is super charged protein supplement....meaning that it has a high bio-availability. The long BCAA chains allow faster recovery time, and allow more time for building muscle rather than repairing the muscle.

Also, many supplements have glutamine in them. Glutamine is a simple amino acid and basically serves as a fuel for muscles and works as an anti-catabolic agent. Taking glutamine is especially important if you go through long workouts. Typically people who endure long workouts tend to have glutamine deficiencies.

out of curiosity, how many pounds/kilos can you all bench and squat?
