the guy probably used some software to do it..
I had some software on my Amiga that could make ascii graphics out of pictures.... (you kinda have to squint with your eyes to see what the picture below is supposed to be)

and it's actual text too!!!...not some gif/pic file

it's a different proggie to the ascii art one, 'cos they just use characters based on their 'density', but this one has actual words, just using colour values
