Got no jokes about his 1998-2001 sets.

i have one where PVD comes damn close but fixes it...

Posted by LinX on May-16-2004 07:20:

same here, its kinda funny though

I have a couple, but most aren't full-blown trainwrecks.
A lot of DJs in the techno sets I have go offbeat b/c they are mixing so many tunes so fast. One of the worst ones is in a Christian Varela set though, he does it like 3 times pretty badly...

pauls mayday mixing has been qurestionable, since now he tries to mix as many tracks in 60 mins as possible...

Posted by [N]k|[Z] on May-16-2004 17:54:

yup i have a thomas p heckman set from tresor where he spoons one up at the start. and then going from giada - return to forever, into, horrorist - 1 night in NYC he proper.. [and i mean proper as in more than what you should be spooning mixes if your a well respected DJ] fucking spoonup

Posted by Psionic on May-16-2004 17:55:

Can you guys say where in the set or in which mixes he did, I didn't hear any trainwrecks, all i heard where beats that were barley off, so can you elaborate.

Oh yea, that recent misja helsoot set on TA had a huge trainwreck in the 7th min. and I've heard a couple techno dj's like UMEK and Carl Cox trainwreck, but understandable since they usually are mixing on so many turntables.

Ummm... Okay? Am I trying to be funny? No. I'm just laughing at myself for the fact that I still have the set somewhere. So go get that stick out of your ass that's causing so many people to think lowly of you and your posts.

And he DID trainwreck as a whole. Tracklisting was horrid, mixing wasn't up to par, at all, and it was just an overall boring listen.

one of the early ASOTs, if not the first
where he starts off with exhale, and the train just flys off the tracks.

i believe a "trainwreck" occurs during the transition of tracks when a DJ fails to beatmatch/adjust tempo correctly and the bass gets all mixed and fucked up.

Feel free to correct me though

that was a skipping CD not an actual fucked up mix (he wasn't even bringing in another track when it happened). Not that I consider Paul noteworthy for his mixing, but you have to be fair.

but u gotta give him extra points for acting like a spaz when it happened.

Oakenfold at Cream@Amnesia '03

Coldplay - Clocks (Cosmos Remix)

to

PPK - ResuRection

Heck, half the set wasn't even mixed, but that one just sucked.

I dont remember what tracks they were, been hella long since i heard it... but i do remember he was mixing into one of the tracks that got really really big..

now techno is a sloppy genre period, most dj mixing pretty sloppy, they use a lot of tricks while mixing it too, its kinda reminds me of hip hop mixing, where they only use tricks to mix and not beatmatch
