travelling to GK GG

hi there all UKTA

first of all I'm really sorry if this question has been asked before or if it's an obvious question in any way but I just want to make it easy for myself

well anyway, I'm planning to party at Godskitchen global gathering the 31st july so I*m wondering how I get there fairly cheap from stanstead airport (I'll be flying Ryanair probably)

so to sum it all up...what I need is prices and descriptions on how to get there

Posted by maria111 on May-18-2004 19:14:

if i understand correct you need to find cheap flights!check those sites

http://www.easyjet.com/en/book/index.asp

http://www.klm.com

http://www.lastminute.com

hope i help you

no he wants to know how to get from the airport to Global Gathering

i don't know, however, i'm sure there will be buses to main railway terminals which will go to Stratford upon Avon, and there may be a coach service from the airport to birmingham as well, and you can travel from there

http://www.godskitchen.com/global

official site. click the information tab, and then find the directions tab, and theres information how to get to the site from the airport.

to get from Stanstead to GKGG wont be that easy (is there no way u could fly into Birmingham?).

u could either get the train to london (liverpool st) then go across to Euston for the train to birmingham or there are National Express coaches from Stanstead to Birmingham but these are not very regular and take along time because there are not many good roads from Stanstead to Birmingham.

*edit* you can get the train direct from stansted to birmingham international will take 3-4 hours and cost about 45 for an open return but ALOT less if you book the train tickets in advance AND go to Birmingham New Street instead (ie. 15-20).

hope that helps

okay so a flight to birmingham would be the best.
well I'm a total looser when it comes to UK's geography so bare with me

well anyway, gonna check up if there's any flights from sweden to birmingham

thanks for the answers I've gotten already, keep em comming if anyone has even more info on this subject

Question

Ok so any chance someone could continue giving instructions from B'ham onwards? I'm flying Dublin to B'ham Ryanair (if any other Irish looking to do same BOOK FLIGHTS TONIGHT - CURRENT RYANAIR OFFERS FINISHED AT MIDNIGHT - NEXT OFFER NOT TIL THIS WEEKEND AND QUITE LIKELY TO BE EXPENSIVE! ONLY 69 RETURN AT THE MOMENT). What would be best way to get from there to the event any idea?

Same question for B'ham to Strattford - ho much / long journey?

Thanks!

well I've looked around a little and it seems like the cheapest way to fly to uk frmo sweden is ryanair to london and then travel on frmo there :/ (other flights cost around 160 and that's way to expensive)

now I know I'm probably asking the same question again here but anyway...

I've decided to fly to stanstead so it looks lie this will be my travelling route:

Sweden -> stanstead
stanstead -> birmingham int. (with the train that goes directly between them)
birmingham int. -> stratford-upon-avon (this is my big questionmark that hasn't been sorted out yet, please help me out here with more info )
stratford stn. -> GK GG (with thoose 2 coaches)

is it something I've missed in this travelplan?

ohh and btw. I need a webpage for the trains between stanstead & birmingham int. airport

/vizay

PS. I hope there will be some sort of TA-meetup at gk too, would be nice to meet ya all there

train, but it does take quite along time. check out www.thetrainline.com

to get to stratford u'll need to go to international train station (nx to airport) go to new street and swap over to moor street station then get the train direct to stratford.

got the above from a mate who lives near it.

just a note give plenty of time between getting your train back to your flight back as trains on a sunday is pretty poor as services are cut and lots of engineering work takes place on the rails. an hour train journey between mon-sat could take 2-3 hours on a sunday
