denon dns 3000

anyone got these decks? I'm thinking of upgrading to them or the dns 5000. What i want to do is be able to start from any point of a track and i know with the 5000,s there is loads of cababilities for that, but what about the 3000's. If any one has the 3000's, feedback will be nice, on what they can do in terms of hot starting and stutter starts, and any other useful info.

they're exactly the same as the 5000's in those regards... but with the 3000s you only get 1 hot start and 1 sample ability.... On the 5000s you get more...and alpha track too.

I got both my 3000s for $1000.00 so it was a good deal. 2 5000 will run you around $1300-$1400.
So if you're short on cash, go ahead and get the 3000s...if not get the 5000s.

thanks for reply, but with your 3000's can u also hot start from your cue point, making 1 hot start and 1 stutter start? How many 15 seconds worth of samples can u load into the machine?

yeah, i guess ya got 2 hot starts if you include the cue.

There is only 1 sampler on the 3000.
They work fine for me.. I didn't really need all that extra stuff since I spin primarily vinyl.

what i meant was how much info can u load into the sampler, how many times 15 seconds of samples, how much info will it take.

i know the denon 3000 has one 15 second sampler, but cant u store other samples in its memory bank, and if u can, how many samples can u store.

I've got a pair of 3000s too. Like pumavisor808 said, you can record up to 15 sec. but that 15sec sample can not be saved. It'll get wiped out once you A)turn off the cd player, or B) press the button to clear the sample. So basically, it's temporary (just like the copy/paste keys in windows)

The hot clue however, you can store it in it's internal memory (up to 5000 cues -- 1 cue per track)
