Visualizations + line in from audio source + projector

Hello, I have a really good idea for something cool at at Discotheque that I am going to try to do at my next dj. I would like to project the segwave graphics that you can get from the visualizations in programs like Windows Media Player or Winamp onto a wall.. It would be good for lighting as well as just being all around cool. But to do this, I need to run the source thats playing the music through the computer, into the sound card through the "line in" port. Then the source needs to act as an audio player for the computer.

I can say this, If it is possible to talk into the mic and have the visualizations react back according to the sound waves of the voice, then its possible to do that above. So, does anyone know of how to get WMP or winamp to do this, or know of any other program that has visualizations ?
