DJ Rush

Shitttt this guy has skills on the decks...fucking awsome at spinning. I'm listening to his Time Warp 15 / 2004 set..2 hours of hardass techno.

Anybody else a fan of this guy? he r0xxxxx

Posted by Electronicapo1 on May-19-2004 02:33:

Very sick techno dj indeed. Twisted, hard, unorganized techno. just pure rush!!! hes good, and fun to listen to, but he doesnt have the technical skill of a dave clarke.

Posted by audi0v0x on May-19-2004 02:39:

true. clarke is a master on the decks no doubt about it!

Posted by Sand Leaper on May-19-2004 06:31:

Can't say I care much for Rush's numbskull bosh techno sets (it does the job live though I'll admit), but he is by far one of techno's most fascinating personalities, which is reflected in his productions. That's probably why I like his tracks a lot more than his sets.

Posted by Wildfir3 on May-19-2004 07:00:

I liked rush a lot too, but i feel more for sets by amok, sven wittekind, mario ranieri, arkus p, frank kvitta, linus petrovic,...

A bit more creative with the fx

Posted by Elyksir on May-19-2004 07:13:

i don't think that rush comes even close to maestros like clarke or umek when talking about skills. he just bangs out hard tunes... i don't like his musiy style anyway, although i agree he is quite a charismatic person. very popular here in slovenia, where techno and hardtechno are still massively popular.

Posted by chesco on May-19-2004 08:17:

rush has as much skillz as a week old cabbage my freind, he's a terrible dj. It's always good to catch maybe an hour of his set for a laff, but any idiot can mix that type of techno.

get beyers set instead, now that is good!!

Posted by basd on May-19-2004 08:20:

His music doesn't do anything for me (imo, you might just as well throw a motorcycle down the stairs) since I'm into a different type of techno, but I must admit he knows how to throw down a party...

He (and other DJs that spin the same style, like the ones Wildfir3 mentioned) pretty popular in Holland nowadays, especially amongst people that are into hardstyle and seek for a little variation.

Posted by GT40 on May-19-2004 10:05:

After hearing the dreadful Partytime EP I have no interest in him and his awful sets which is mostly Schranz which sucks.

Posted by DJ Cinos on May-19-2004 10:34:

Personally, I don't really like his music.

Posted by Stanza on May-19-2004 10:34:

I don't really like techno

Posted by Nook on May-19-2004 11:00:

i like the music, don't know about his skills tho, i saw him for 15 minutes @ the loveparade last year. at least, i think that was him >.<

You can also place Varela, Beyer, Sims, Mills, Hawtin, Carola besides Umek and Clarke

+ Everybody likes Rush...he's so cool, especially when he sings sometimes

hehe

rush is just over the top 'bosh techno' as someone has said. too fast and too bassy. not a patch on the more electo tinged, dirty shit of sven vath...or mr ben sims who also fuckin rocks.

Posted by Wildfir3 on May-19-2004 11:45:

The main problem with schranz is that it's just too distorted. It fucks up a lot of the good things that can be done with it. When u listen to Robert Natus' "hardcore salsa" for example, now that's extremely fast bangin techno with a cool touch.

u can hear it in the banner @ http://www.planetnatus.com ... starts playin automatically

Posted by Wildfir3 on May-19-2004 11:59:

this is a sample of him singin live while spinning @ Silo (Belgium) btw

[QUOTE]

i'm going to push the boat out here and say that picotto is better than him as well

What the fuck is up with his mixing in that mothership set, it's appauling.

Having said that he is the original hard techno dj. all these muppets like sven wittekind etc are just trying to breakthru to the mass hardstyle market in the netherlands etc. It's completely thoughtless music!!

that's a cheap thought imo. That's the same like saying cheap muppets like schulz are trying to break through to the mass trance wannabe prog market & all... it's just another style, nothing more, nothing less

imo

With the subtle difference that artists like Robert Natus spit out a new 4-track EP every other week or so.. If they would put more effort in creating good tracks, rather than just repeating the same loops over a crazy-as-hell distorted bass again and again, it might get a little more interesting (but it'd still be too hard for my liking I think)..

Having said that, I must confess one of my favourite tracks of last year was produced by Robert Natus Wegbeschreibung (on Patters Special 1.5) is awesome! Totally different from his usual productions though

Posted by Wildfir3 on May-19-2004 13:23:

I know, producing is a different thing, but i'm talking about dj skills

Posted by chesco on May-19-2004 13:26:

IMO you are blind to what these guys are doing then. They make shite music which will appeal to kid on techno fans and hard style fans, hence the reason people like lady dana are playing their records. They have seen a market and are trying to exploit it for all it's worth, their music is terrible.

But I suppose it's all a matter of taste

Yeahh he is so funny. I saw him and was a wicked night, pure energy and very friendly with the crowd

BTW Dj Rush - Live @ I Love Techno 2003, is a good set.

Posted by Wildfir3 on May-19-2004 13:41:

Get ur head outta your ass, will ya

It's just another style of techno, maybe u don't like it, but it's cheap to say its kiddy techno & stuff.
I do appreciate good tribal techo, cox thingies, clarke thingies,... but i like the harder stuff too. Especially for huge parties with lots of strobes & lasers & stuff. Just gets ya going pretty hard. And yeah, what's wrong with seing a market & going for it. That's what life's all about: a struggle for fun/fame/pleasure/money.

Ur not telling me they don't feel anything for that kinda music theirselves, because otherwise u don't get so big in it.

But oh well, i guess you're right and thousands of fans are wrong
Ur kinda music is the best

I never said it was wrong I merely pointed out the fact it's shite and that techno is about a lot more than distorted beats at 190 bpm.

It's garbage!! thats all i'm saying!!

Posted by Wildfir3 on May-19-2004 13:50:

Yeah cuz that's all it is
