Need HELP! How to Master the sound for a recorded set!

i already searched for this topic, but i couldn't find anything other than mastering eq for music production...i donno if thats the same thing

im making my promo mix this month, but how do u master the sound of the set to make it sound like a "LIVE" mix, & cd quality like before i burn it into CD????

Mastering is mastering. Same deal applies to a mix and music production, only instead of mastering individual instrumental tracks, you're mastering a big mixdown.

I'm not sure what you're getting at here. If you want it to sound live, just add in some trainwrecks I guess.

Best advice I can give is to listen to a live CD and compare it to your set so you know what to change.

if u ever realize this, alot of the live sets at 192 kbps sound way more better than the ones at same bitrate we record at home. most of the live sets sound much more **round, more echoing sounds, and hv the big room feel**.....its not the needle, and im sure they hv mastered the recorded set before they put it for download or something

is there any programs i can do that??

That doesn't sound quite right. Adding a psychoacoustic effect in that way would only serve to muddy the mix as a whole, not make it clearer.

As I said, just use some live mixed-cds for reference when comparing to your own sets.

nah it wouldn't make the mix more muddy.

i hv jsut asked a producer about this problem i want to work around with, and he said.......it needs programs like cubase to edit the sound to make it more live feel, and much more clearer.

thats why most recorded set needs to be "mastered" to make it cd quality-like before they're burned into cd for sales.

but the problem now is how do u do that? i guese i need to get this done by someone who produce music

Uhh, no trust me adding reverb would make it muddier, that's why it's a psychoacoustic effect. It relegates it to the back of your mind by blending everything together.

If you don't want to accept my advice that's fine.
