This night seems to have crept up on me and I seem to have left all preperations until the last minute. Fingers crossed I can buy tickets on the door. I shall be arriving about half 8ish, are we gonna meetup before hand for a swift 1?

Wish I could go just to see how quickly the place clears out when Jules goes on.

Where the fuck is this place please? I am going to drive to Kingston and park up and get a train from there to Kings Cross. But where is it from there?

I have no idea, I don't really know where this club is either. I was thinking of buying a homeless guy a burger in exchange for some directions maybe.

Posted by jamie on May-30-2004 10:48:

Just got home, knackered, full review later but i just have to say

HALLIWELL IS GOD!

Posted by dj_mdma on May-31-2004 14:38:

well good night, i've sorely missed clubbing...that was the first time i've been out since PvD in March!

Fiona, Rick and i went to see Ferry at Turnmills the night before as well, that was also a good night, we had to wait til 4 to see Ferry, but it was well worth the wait.

The Canvas club is well nice i think, the chillout room has bedsized cushions!!! I got pretty mashed, and everyone played pretty good sets, apart from jules who tried to do some scratching after Eddie Halliwell Rapture TV were filming something there, and Rick and i are TV whores, when the camera man came near us,we brokee out the lights and gave a lightshow it was quite fun wondering around and giving lightshows to mashed people

now we're at his house playing a set with skills that could rival that of jules

That was a sorted night. Hardwick played his usual breed of armin trance , but then Bond took over the turntables and spun all the more tougher. Would have been even better if he was not so battered as some of the transitions were a bit poor.

Then on came the man himself who surprised the funk outta me with some quality choonage. Best thing of all was that there were no vocal tracks, no holding on to nothing and no reflections tracks The only down point of his set was the amount of fukkwits in the DJ booth who kept knocking the turntables and making the needle jump. Some tit in the booth also shoved a CD in his face halfway through him mixing between tracks and i thought pvd was gonna lump the guy, which would have been ace. But yeh i think Mike was keeping a tracklist on his fone so i look forward to seeing that.

Halliwell was on after and he was just mindblowing with his skills on the decks, I have not seen him before but his live rework of traffic was awesome. Then Jules came on and tried to immitate him and failed miserably so we left But overall a good night was definately had!
