Too much Drama in Seattle...
So, I was browsing my local forums on nwtekno, and I started reading on this one forum, and these posts start forming about promoters threatining eachother over parties. Didn't really care to read the rest since there were like 4 pages after that proboably full of drama and finger pointing. I'm just going to stay off there for about 2 weeks, grab some popcorn, and come back to read everything for some late night enjoyment. Just thought I'd share this.
GG. Looks like this weekend should be good at the Baltic.

It's just sad because if there are too many problems, then out of town dj's would probably reflect it as being not a good place to come. That party this Friday doesn't look like it is going to be supported too well because of the problems, so the headliner Rob Real doing his live set is not going to see that great of a crowd or something. I don't know. As I say, I'm going back to those threads in two weeks for entertainment purposes.
im just annoyed that we dont have any truly devoted venues to this sort of thing.

| Originally posted by Nou I guess what Im trying to say is big names dont make a scene, its the small venues and promoters and the local DJs that work there asses off that make stuff happen. There are alot of locals that I would pay doubly to see over PvD or Armin or someother big name, because the know the crowd and the people and know how to work them. |

I dunno. Seattle seems to be an odd little bubble (NW in general). I know some locals like "The Blender" hehe and so forth. They are more small time. I usually get to know these guys at house parties... But BC tends to have more events lined up. I mean, I know I can hit something almost every night here, just not the same atmosphere here that exists in a lot of other places. I dunno. Ive lived here all my life, and it may be that talking, but Seattle just feels different in a lot of ways than basically anywhere else hehe.

| Originally posted by Nou Ahhh its crap.... lol stupid trolls, pretty bad for a rep of a promotion group to star talkin crap about another group, that stuff dont usually fly around here... I dont even know why he would do that. Ohh and bump on Daft Punk for NYE... pretty sick! |

I find it sad, that it's not enough that the government eagle-eyes (RAVE ACT?!) EDM events, but that infighting and this sort of divisiveness further breaks things down. The bad vibes spread and word get around... no likey this kinda drama
bring back the grunge scene from seattle
