Tiesto - Does he make his own music?

I posted this somewhere else too, cause I need a straight answer:

a simple question in regards of Tiesto, there are so many out there claiming he doesn`t make his own music, and that other people makes it, and he just approves it.

I have very hard time believing that, I mean, he doesn`t excactly sell millions of records now do he?.. so if someone else is making is music, why would they do that?

does he makes his own music?

any thoughts?

any facts?

what do you think?

This is cynical people highlighting the fact that Tiesto often gets other people to write parts of his tracks, like Kid Vicious (can't spell his real name) on Suburban Train. He definately produces his own tracks though, and writes parts of all of them.

flame war in 3... 2... 1...

of course the man makes his own music...

sometimes there are collaborations, sometimes not, but he still makes his own

good question actually.. I am not sure what too believe, I have troubles believing that someone else makes his music, I have also troubles believing he have the time to spend hours in the studio to come up with something..

Posted by sandstorm03 on May-27-2004 17:23:

sure hes involved, but so are the other blackhole artists...
same thing as sasha...

Posted by Subtle on May-27-2004 17:24:

I have heard some serious people saying that he doesn`t make his own music, nor Johan Gielen, Marco V, Ferry Corsten.. damn I hate when that is being said..

Posted by Radagast on May-27-2004 17:27:

Any track that says "Written and composed by Tiesto" was produced by Tiesto. There is no proof otherwise.

Posted by idoru on May-27-2004 17:29:

He's taken samples of other tunes for a couple of songs. I know that Traffic was sampled, as it says so on the vinyl case.

But he does write most of his own songs.

love comes again has samples from a benz & md track i forget the name

The pathetic jealous losers will claim the same thing about any artist who hits it big.

There is not a single artist in the world who can do tracks completely alone.

Posted by chrome on May-27-2004 17:33:

the track seems to have a ron van den beuken type of influence

If you are looking for an artist that does not produce his own music then look no further than Mr Sam.

Mr Sam pays other ppl to do the Mr Sam Remixes or productions and then takes the credit for it.

Mr Sam? should be Mr Sham!

Posted by sandstorm03 on May-27-2004 17:34:

or geert hunnik aka majik musik & cor f.

or am I totally wrong?

Posted by Eduardo on May-27-2004 17:45:

Posted by sandstorm03 on May-27-2004 17:46:

Mr Sam cleverly hid it for years but with the end of contract between Fred Baker and Mr Sam, it came to light.

You may have noticed over the last couple of years that Mr Sam remixes have included Fred Baker in the title (Mr Sam Vs Fred Baker Remix)
The work was all done by Fred Baker and only a later revision of the contract between them managed to get Fred Baker at least acknowledged.

Since the ending of the contract Fred Baker has proved his production skills by doing colabs with MIKE (Push) and Terry Bones.

Mr Sam is currently employing some other fool now.

Basicly when the contract was done, Fred Baker was unknown, he saw it as a way of getting his name known but was taken advantage of.

Beware all you future up and coming producers of the contracts that you are offered, you do not want to fall into the same trap.

Wow!!! I used to love Mr SAM (his pruductions that is)

Posted by sandstorm03 on May-27-2004 17:52:

how did mr sam start doing that?

Posted by torontotrance on May-27-2004 17:53:

Ask Fred Baker himself, he will tell you that Mr.Sam cannot play any instrument or any piece of software. I've known this for sometime now, that's why I won't ever buy Mr.Sam's records. He has been blacklisted and joins such cheats as ATB, Josh Wink and Mauro Picotto in the TTA hall of infamy.

Can I ask why Picotto is in there?

Posted by montana on May-27-2004 17:54:

the thing about mr. sam is true, ask fred baker or terry bones, they are the ones that said this.

but ontopic, tijs produces stuff by him self, but yes, he has used a lot of coproducers, geert huinink has co-produced a lot, cor fijneman has also co-produced some stuff, josh gabriel on the newest album, i'm not 100% on this one but dj montana has also helped on some productions
